Congratulations jane and downhill.
Can I ask an awfully personal question? Are any of you ladies suffering from bottom burps and gas pains? I'm finding the gas pain hard to manage at times. Anyone know any positions to get into to relieve the pains?
I'm 11 +2 at the moment and worried its only going to get worse.
Anyway - nice chat for a Friday afternoon - sorry about that.
Looking forward to falling asleep on the couch! Might catch up on bake off!
Have a great weekend all.0 -

Walking can sometimes help, but what's helped me the most is rub your tummy. Down on the left, across the bottom, up on the right, and across the top, repeat. Doesn't have to be done hard. That's the direction of your digestion (unless you're a backwards person!), so it should help get things moving and relieve some of the pressure and pain! Also, ask your midwife/GP/chemist about charcoal tablets/capsules. They work wonders for my gas and heartburn, you just cannot take them within 4 hours of any other medication. HTH!

Im definatly a lot more gasey but havent had too much pain thankfully.
I think my work have noticed me putting on weight. My boss made a joke earlier when i went to go nibble on some left over meeting lunch about eating too much, i turned to him showing him my handful of grapes and he just laughed it off. Im usually a size 8/10 and I've got a swollen belly which is obvious and i think they think im just eatong all the cake!!!!0 -
Morning ladies. For the 2nd time, sorry if TMI, I had a bit of pink on the paper when I wiped after going for a wee. I know others have had much worse & everything been fine & I know it's probably only a few cells to just be that colour but it still isn't nice. If it really is normal and usual to have a bit through early pregnancy I think it needs to be more widely talked about, women see blood, even a small amount and think the worst.
Glad I've got a scan later now, will help to put my mind at rest, in 9+2 now and my last was at 7 weeks so, all being well, there should be quite a difference.
Been up since 6 but I'm still lying in bed, hubby has just gone out for a run, nutter! Hope everyone is ok, I'll check in later after my scan. x0 -
Eek Carrot, I'm lucky I've had not suffered that yet
I've read a lot of funny stories online though about women suffering from gas in pregnancy. One in particular made me laugh (sorry for those easily offended or who leave toilet humour to the OH
) she said she was sat having lunch with friends and felt the urge to pass wind but thought it would just be a silent one, when to her horror the loudest one she'd ever know came out from nowhere! She said she couldn't even blame it on pregnancy yet to her friends as she was only 7 weeks so had to face some very shocked faces from them over lunch. Praying that this doesn't happen to me, worst ever scenario would be in a class!
Oh the shame, and just another way that pregnancy is definitely not as lovely and glowing as people make out to be!
Good luck with your scan today Princess0 -
Ladies have you seen the film, what to expect when you're expecting? If not watch it! I watching it a while ago but will def each it again now I'm in the situation, very funny and I'm sure there are lots of aspects we would appreciate in it now!0

Hopefully everything is fine princess Kate, exciting that you have a scan later.
Regarding wind, maybe try peppermint tea it helps with digestion in general. When I used to have ibs it helped loads.
Day 32 of my cycle today and great not to see a period I have had two positive preg tests plus feeling nauseous but going past 31 days (which has been my longest cycle over the last year) feels good.
How bad is people's nausea?
I am not 5 weeks yet so I know my nausea will prob get worse, it starts about an hour after breakfast and continues until lunch at the moment. We are going to Warwick castle for the day tomorrow so I am pleased my symptoms aren't too bad at the moment.:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -
Hi all, I've been sick twice today, hopefully not a sign of things to come!
All was fine at my scan, measured perfectly at 9 weeks 2 days, could see the heartbeat again and could even see it wiggling around. However I didn't have a full bladder so it made seeing anything properly difficult. I did try to drink a lot before I went but I threw it all up before leaving the house! Typical! So glad for the reassurance, 2 weeks tuesday till my 12 weeks scan now. I'll make sure I have a full bladder for that one!
Found a different place to go for my scan today than the clinic we used for my treatment, booked online the scan was £35 & really the reassurance is priceless!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! x0 -
Morning fellow mamas to be!!
Congrats Jane and Downhillfast!! Hope the nxt few mths are good to you!!
Glad your scan went well Princess Kate
Jedi, my nausea hasn't been too bad, comes and goes occasionally but defo manageable! Maybe you might be one of the ones that doesn't suffer to much with pregnancy symptoms!
Hope you are feeling a little better Aunty-Pickle, can't imagine how you must be feeling. I had a fraction of what you must be going through at work last Thursday where I ws sick 4 times in 30 minutes! It was awful! My boss sniggered everytime I had to run past his desk in the vain hope I'd make it to the ladies! Bit of a shock to the system but thankfully no sickness since then altho I'm a bit queasy this morning! Safe to say everyone's guessed that I'm pregnant now! :rotfl:
I've had a lie in this morning as OH has taken ds swimming! It's heaven to just lay in bed and not be treated like a trampoline by ds!!
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday x0
