I currenty have 2 huge spots I'm considering naming as they're so massive! I hope you don't suffer that too tho! Feeling quite achey today, mainly in my back, I often suffer with my back & I'm sure theres quite a lot of moving & stretching going on! Off to bed now as I have a 13 hour day in work tomorrow & I don't know how I'll cope not being in my pjs by 6pm!
So glad everything was good with your scan missymoo, hope everyone else is feeling ok! x0 -
Hi I was recommended to come to this thread after asking for some advice on the main board. I'm 8 and a half weeks pregnant (due 31/3) with my second baby and am feeling awful. I had problems with my first but not till third trimester.
Had a real scare last week. Tummy cramps, tummy upset and vomiting and doctor suspected that my pregnancy was ectopic or I had a growth in ny womb so I was referred to the hospital for an early scan. Fortunately the baby and I are okay.
Since then I've not really been feeling any better. Doctor suspects that my abdominal pains are pains from my last pregnancy and gave me a doctor's line. I'm back in work next week but really struggling. I've hardly gotten out if bed the past few days.
Just wondered if anyone else was feeling like this? It doesn't help that my husband won't let me tell anyone except close family so can't confide in my friends. I'm being a rubbish mum to my little girl at the moment, a bad wife and a bad friend. I'm still getting over a bout of really bad food poisoning, and I had norovirus on top of it which put me into hospital for two days. If you feel that there is something wrong, keep pressing your doctor. More than likely it's either just really bad morning sickness (morning, yeah right!) or something that has nothing to do with the pregnancy. Try not to worry too much about baby, it will take what it needs from you regardless. Our little one had a growth spurt 2 days after I was home from the hospital and jumped ahead in dates 4 days!
*hugs* Look after yourself ok?

Welcome betti, good to see you over here - as Mrs_T_M said, definitely see your GP as you can't go on feeling like you are. Don't worry about feeling like you're wasting their time or that it's nothing because it obviously is something, whether pregnancy related or not, and the number one priority should be you. I know all pregnancies are different but if you didn't feel like you do now with your first then it's definitely worth flagging up. Hope you start feeling better soon x
Princess kate, I'm lucky as I haven't suffered with spots (yet!) and I've not had any major aches or pains. My mum was shocked when I told her yesterday that I've not had any real feelings of sickness yet, although there have been a few occasions where I know I'm hungry but can't face certain foods. Crisps seem to be the safe option at any timeHope work goes alright for you today, I don't envy that 13 hour shift at all!! I'm back to work on Monday after a lovely summer off, it's come round so quick.

Thanks mrs t m and missy moo. I've spoken to my doctor and they've done all the relevant tests e.g. blood, urine etc and they can't find anything wrong with me. My doctor gave me a line which ends tomorrow. Maybe it us just morning sickness. Maybe when I go back to work it'll be okay. I really hope so. I'm seeing my consultant next week so hopefully they will be able to advise.
It's so hard when no one knows your pregnant. I wish I could talk to my friends about it but my husband is really against it. He seemed quite shocked we were expecting (it was the first month we weren't using birth control) . We have a two year old who is the Apple of his eye and he says he's worried he won't love the other baby the same way. I'm sure he will.Jan 1st 07 Car loan £4830.46@12% Personal Loan £11,517@8% variable Overdraft £1500 July 2009Halifax-£0Debt free date 14th July 2009 :j0 -

Has anybody seen this article in the DM about waiting 12 weeks before announcing?
Thoughts?

I read that this morning. I totally agree with it, I haven't told everyone but I have told parents & siblings & my close friends. I think it's better to share it as happy news rather than if something had happened only then be telling the people closest to you. Keeping it a secret for 3 months when there is do much going on with your emotions & body, feeling unwell, being uncertain if you should be doing certain tasks keeping the only thing you can think about a secret at the same time seems a lot of extra stress for nothing to me. You need support of family and friends whatever stage of pregnancy you are in and whatever the ultimate outcome.0

Interesting article and what one of my friends said (she announced her pregnancy early). I am someone who waited until 12 weeks so only me and my partner knew, I am a private person and the thought of if I had told everyone and then having to tell them it was over would have been worse. I think whatever the outcome I would have told people but would have restricted it to my closest friends/family. Once you start telling people I have noticed the news gets around quick even if unintended so may have been hard to limit who knew. I do think its personal preference but personally I feel sometimes its good to keep special news to yourself for a bit but that may be because I am a private person.
