*delurking* carrot so glad to hear your babies are still fit and well. There have been a couple of people at various stages who bled through pg but it just turned out to be non sinister in terms of their and the babies health, just terrifying. One had her baby this year, all fine and the ohter is daisegg who floats round the grown up pg thread.
I didn't get (or wasn't botheed by) mood swings and irritability because that's how I am normally! Instead i turned weepy and whiny.
Left side sleeping thoughts - my mw advised me to try to get into the habit from as early as possible for the same reasons as already posted re the vein. At the birth skills class they told us you want the baby head down in pelvis and then his/her body lying to the left. I can't remember if they explicitly said but I assume lying left helps encourage them into this position. I think my lazy daisy instructor mentioned this also.
My hydro physio said as others have that if it is wrong for you then you will automatically move, asleep or not. For example my LO hasn't made lying flat on my back uncomfortable until about 30 weeks, while others got dizzy at 20 week scans. Also when you are asleep, you are probably never asleep long enough at the stage where they are big enough to lean on it for it to cause harm as I am up and down like a jack in the box for the loo - that's just speculation though.
I got a dream genii pillow for a penny on ebay. I used the MSE collection app (search on this site) which allows you to find bigger items like cots etc for a song. There is a yummy mummy village near my socially deprived bit of the world who all have nice stuff to sell on.
Good luck all!

Thank you so much for the advice lilmissreading, it's always good to hear reassurance stories from people, and also the eBay tip as I didn't realise there was one. I'll be checking that out so thank you!
Goodbye to Pington and welcome georgie - congratulations on your BFP!
Trixsie I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. If you're feeling really sick could it be worth just seeing your GP while you wait for a midwife appointment, they might be able to give you something for it and it's got to be better than seeing no one at all. Or like Tilly said you could give a helpline a call for some advice. Hugs to you x
As for me, the day has finally come round after what seems like the longest wait ever, even though I know pregnancy is all about waiting now! It's the day of my first scan:):) I'm more nervous than excited as I just hope all is well, but I can't wait to tell my close family the news if all is well. I just hope I worked my dates out right and they can actually see something
eeeeeek, I'll report back later. Have a lovely day everyone!

Trixsie, this probably won't help you but if you read back you will find a lot of us had period type cramps at the start of our pregnancies which scared the bejeezus out of us. In the vast majority of cases it turned out to be ligament stretching pains (there's some technical name my baby brain can't remember). I hope that this helps you.

Hi everyone, thank you for the advice. I ended up,going to hospital last night because the pain got worse and I have a urine infection so got antibiotics
I might give tommys a call later, might settle my mind about the whole midwife thing. I think what's bothering me most is that it just feels like I'm being fobbed off but hopefully when my centre opens on Monday that will change
good luck everyone

First house purchase ... 2018 :j0 -
Tentatively joining, got my bfp at the weekend with number 2. Took 2 months to conceive this time whereas my ds took 17months so I'm shocked as I was expecting more of a wait. Dh is over the moon but disappointed he won't get more months of lots of trying
Its very early days as I'm only 4 weeks.
Carrot, sorry to hear of your bleeding but happy your babies are well, I bleed from 6-14 weeks with my son, sometimes light, alot of the times was heavy with some large clots, think I had about 5 scans before 13 weeks and no reason was found.0 -
Good luck with your scan missy moo, let us know how you get on. x0

Hi Tilly_dreams! Thanks for thinking of me. I have been quite busy the past few weeks so not had a lot of chance to log on.
I'm 9 wks tomorrow and we had a scan at 7 wks as is standard with IVF treatment and there was a little heartbeat which was a relief to see. However we are no longer Due Date Twins as my EDD is now 01/04/15 ... I do hope I am a couple of days early or a day or two late
I have just received my 12 wk scan date from the NHS and it is 03/10/14 at which I would be 14 wks. I'm not sure if there is a backlog around here or they have misunderstood my dates as I couldn't tell them my last period date (as with IVF your last period date is skewed by the medicated) so I told them my IVF conception date which may make them think I am 2 weeks behind.
Hopefully it wont matter as I have self referred to One to One Midwives http://www.onetoonemidwives.org/ which is a private midwife service that is funded by the NHS in my area. Under this service you see the same midwife each visit and they will also deliver your baby if you decide on a home birth. I have my first midwife appointment on Friday and she has said she will book the scan on that date.
Symptom wise I have been very bloated, constipated and had painful trapped wind. Last Sunday I woke very early with cramps on my right side, right hip and back and was also sick (but no nausea) It cleared up after a couple of hours. On Monday night / Tuesday morning I woke at 2:30am with the same type of pain and could not get back to sleep due to the discomfort. It eventually stopped at around 9am. A few google searches have made me think it is pelvic girdle pain or ligament pain, but it is not pleasant at all.
Anyway, I hope all of you are well, hello to the newbies!0 -
Thanks bezzy - it does help to know other people have been through it and had a successful outcome. I had hoped it stopped today but at 2pm it came again. But I must remember I saw them yesterday and they were fine (I need this to become my mantra).
Good luck missymoo - I hope your scan goes well.
danielley - is not heard of one-one midwives before. Sounds brilliant. I'm going to look into it.0 -
Hey everyone, scan was amazing
Got some really great pics and saw/heard a lovely strong heartbeat. Baby even wiggled his/her bottom as we were watching! It was so surreal to see but amazing at the same time, we're both just so relieved everything is ok at this early stage. We came home and told parents and siblings straight away and they are all over the moon, smiles from them and lots of tears from me! I measured at 7+6 and my EDD has moved forward to 09.04.15. That means I was only 2 days behind by my estimations so I'm very impressed with the accuracy of the ClearBlue digital tests!
Thanks for the good wishes, good to see danielley back and welcome to Bezzy!0
