  • My mood has been fine, we were actually talking about it today. Do you usually suffer like that before your period was due? But a new symptom has arrived today, spots!! 2 huge ones on my chin! Going to put a face mask on in a bit, try & dry them up a bit! I never get spots but 2 huge ones! Oh heck!! Hope everyone is well! xx

delurking - no you're not the only one who's turned into a hormonal nightmare missymoo! I think pretty much all of us have been there. At the moment I'm getting narked at my hubby when he breathes in my direct whilst we're in bed, I mean how mean is that!

Definitely not the only one! I'm up every hour and a half at night again now (my normal before I got so sick), and I was sooooo irritated at DH this morning for twitching, then turning over and breathing in my face. Granted, I did actually contemplate cleaning up one of the droppers that we have (currently using for olive oil drops) and putting a few drops of mouthwash in his mouth! I mean, he has stinky night-time/morning breath anyway, but he was gagging me this morning!

We had a good talk and snuggle a little while ago and I'm feeling better about things, but still. Men! AHHH!

  • Your stories have made me chuckle :p

Mrs_T_M and Lemon Tree - I've also found I'm waking up during the night, the past week I'd say, and I love my sleep so that's probably having an effect. I've never appreciated hubby breathing in my direction anyways so every time I wake up and find myself facing him I have to turn the other side! I read that you should sleep on your left later on in the pregnancy... Well that's facing OH so I think there'll be a definite swap of sides :p

Princess I've not had spots luckily. Pregnancy is such a lovely thing isn't it :)

Part of our talk tonight was where we were going to move the bed to make room for a cot and how much I wanted a cot in the nursery and either a co-sleeper, bassinet, or small travel cot in our bedroom.

The suggestion is to sleep on your left side after about 16 weeks. The NHS website though says that sleep is more important and usually if baby is cutting off blood flow through that vein that you'll get uncomfortable and shift your weight. I just need to find a way that I can stay on my left side all night instead of no more than about half an hour at a time.

I got up this morning at 5:20 hungry, had a bowl of cereal, used the toilet, went back to bed. Got up a few times to use the loo, but didn't get out of bed really until nearly 9. Had breakfast, another bowl of cereal, then stayed downstairs for a bit. Made some chilli mac for lunch around noon, then went upstairs to lay down at 1. DH was still asleep! I took a nap from about 2 until nearly 5.

I'm getting sleep, just not really deep sleep. I wish that DH and I could both have sleep studies done, but the gp will just keep fobbing us off probably. DH twitches and turns over every 10 minutes, so I know he isn't getting rest, plus every time he moves, it wakes me! He twitches violently sometimes (never actually hit anything/me) and rolls over and snores in an uneven pattern, so I know it isn't normal, but none of the GP's will listen to me because it isn't DH complaining about it. Blah!

  • I read about the sleeping on your left side thing, it also means for me I'd be facing OH & I'm the same, if I'm awake or wake up & OH is facing me I have to turn around. We also might need to swap sides! I saw the dream genii pillow in mother care, its designed to keep you on your left side when sleeping and also to support your bump. It can also be used as a breastfeeding pillow after baby has arrived.

I've never heard about the sleep on the left thing. Why??

Missymoo, I've been having mood swings but being TOO rational and nice! I do have really bad blocked sinuses, so probably too snotty to shout and get stoppy!

If anyone needs pregnancy vitamins, Morrisons own brand are buy one get TWO free, so £4.50 for 3 pots of 45 tablets.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Actually thinking of pregnancy vitamins, if you join boots parenting club, the advantage card now has an app rather than the kiosks, there is a voucher for a free pack(30) of boots pregnancy vitamins but they're on 3 for 2, so if you get 3 you get 1 free automatically, 1 free with your voucher from the club & you pay for 1 £3.49. Bargain! Can also get a free changing bag when you buy pampers nappies £6.99 and a few other money off baby item vouchers.
  • Great tip Princess, thanks! I need to sign up to the Boots Parenting club, will do that soon.

pinkshoes - A couple of studies found that a greater % of women who slept on their back or their right side had stillbirths compared to those who slept on their left. It's to do with compressing a large blood vessel which can cut off the blood supply and therefore oxygen to the baby. The studies were quite small, however, and the actual rates for still births are very low anyways - 3.93 stillbirths in every 1000 if you slept on your right/back compared to 1.96 in every 1000 if you sleep on left. A lot more research needs to be done and the NHS claims that the research only shows associations, not actual causes, however we would all rather be cautious than not at all! As Mrs_T_M said anyways, you are probably likely to feel uncomfortable on your right or your back so you'll probably wake up to turn yourself over anyways.

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
I hope you've enjoyed your bank holiday, it's been nice most of the weekend but it's been a wet and miserable one all day here today :(

Anyways, to pass the time I thought I'd ask you all another question... a few of us have been mentioning our symptoms, my main ones being constipation :o and tender boobs, but have any of you experienced mood swings and irritability? My poor OH can do no right at the moment, I'm constantly snapping at him and getting wound up with every little thing he does, I've been such a moody cow! I'm not saying he's faultless all the time (he is a man of course :p) but I've never been this bad with him. I can only blame this on being pregnant, as does he bless him, but I hope it doesn't last! I have to take myself out of the room sometimes because I know if I stay I'll end up being Queen B!tch and saying something really horrible :( Please some of you tell me that I'm not the only one being a nightmare to live with at only 7 weeks!!

Oh my God this all sounds like me right now. Problem is I'm not pregnant!:rotfl:
