Daisy, when I was pregnant with DS we flew to Croatia when I was 8.5 weeks and it was fine. Main problem was the heat over there at the time! I was very glad of air conditioning in the apartment
Our planned holiday this year is a Featherdown Farm visit in May, as DS will love it. I'll need to double check which animals I'm supposed to avoid!
Just had a builder round today to start getting quotes for our planned extension. He reckons mid - August is do-able for completion. If all goes well and I have a home birth again I really don't want a house full of buildersMy due date according to the NHS calculator is 13th September, but DS was 2 weeks early, so not wanting to take any chances with the building work...

Hope the scan goes well on Friday
sorry for asking, don't answer if you don't want to but I don't know as I am new to the thread, are these normal scans or private scans or something else?
We have booked a private scan for when I should be about 7 + 5. Have paid a small deposit but it is refundable if we don't end up needing the scan (:( hope we do, fingers crossed). Not sure if many people do this but I know what a worrier I am and it would be nice to see as early as possible if things are ok, or as ok as it is possible to see at that stage. Also, we have a holiday booked in April and need to decide what to do about it. If I wait until a 12 week scan I think it will only be the week before the holiday so too late to cancel if we need to!
We also have a European city break booked at the end of Feb, when I will be about 8 + 5. Anyone else planning to fly while pregnant? It feels like it should be something you should avoid but I have read a lot and it all seems to say it is ok...
Hi Daisiegg,
Bit complicated mine. I had an NHS scan but because midwife just assumed I had a 28 days cycle had the first scan when I thought I was 11 + 2 and they thought I was 12+ 5 however when I got measured baby only measured at 9+ 2 so this is why I'm going back next week because they couldn't do nuch test.
What usually happens although does differ slightly depending on drs is you have booking in appointment at 7+ weeks (here they do them at 7 weeks) then the midwife puts in referral for scan. I then got scan date 2 weeks after booking in appointment. However have heard some people get scan date at booking appointment or the phone the unit themselves for appointment. But that's roughly what to expect.
I wouldn't worry too much about flying I think it's only after 6 months they say not to and that's down to the cabin pressure.0 -
Hope the scan goes well Disney_Pluto x
I have woken up and managed to resist doing a test this morning!0 -
Hi,
Can I join this thread please? I had a faint tlp yesterday and today when AF is due I've got a bfp. So I thought I had better move from the trying to conceive thread.
Just trying to get my head around it all as I really wasn't expecting it.
Daisie - I'm off to Portugal in March, it was booked as our chill out holiday as ttc was taking its toll. I'm still going on it as its a holiday we both desperately need. I'm jealous of your America adventure though.
Good luck Disneypluto with your scan0 -

Good to see you and yay for BFP!
I am still a bit on tenterhooks...af not actually due until Tuesday but I have now had 4 days of BFPs (including today, yes I gave in and tested after all!) I wonder how high the chance is that it will just disappear and af will arrive on Tuesday
