Yes I do :o I am just scared at the moment because it is so early....seeing the positive tests really help to reassure me!

We have booked a private scan so I put that on, but tell me if it needs to come off!

Have midwife appointment on 7th Feb. I will only be 5+3 by my calculations, but I think I might be 6 weeks according to them if they just count from LMP. That seems really early but the receptionist at the doctor said to just book an appointment straight away? Does anyone know what will happen at that appointment? Is it just to get me in their system?

I am so undecided about a private scan. I would love the reassurance but as a keen money saver I think the £80 could be spent elsewhere, especially now as we are trying to save at least our mortgage payments whilst I will be on maternity.

But can you put a price on reassurance??...
  • Oh yes! lol

I'm another one with a scan on the 6th. Hope we all get good news! I've found the baby's heartbeat twice now with the Doppler and I think I'll try again tonight too. I thought I was getting a bump but this morning it was as flat as a pancake! I've got a bump again now but it must be just bloating and food haha.

My midwife appointment is 11th Feb and it's a booking in one, so takes about an hour of paperwork Daisie. Your medical history, family history, what happens next for appointments type of chat etc.

Jay, welcome! I'm also going to Portugal in March, but it's for a conference not for a relaxing holiday. I'm looking forwards to it though - never been to Portugal before!

Ours will be £99. I am very lucky that I only work part time at the moment for 'pocket money' almost and hubby's income covers the essentials, so it is not as urgent for us to save (though of course a nest egg is always important!) I didn't even know private early scans existed until lurking on these threads and seeing people mention them. I think I would just like the reassurance early or the chance to find out things aren't going to plan before spending 12 weeks getting exciting and starting to bond. Also hubby and I are VERY impatient people! :o So it is worth it for us, but we'd probably think differently if we needed to be saving money. It is a lot of money for something you are going to get on the NHS a few weeks later...
