Anyway, what are other peoples plans with telling people? Or any advice on how to hide it for another 6 weeks (especially as im known for loving my wine)
*delurking*
This is my worry as I am known for my wine appreciation and my OH is a big drinker. He doesn't want to tell any of our friends if I get pregnant until 20 weeks!! I've asked him how he expects me to hide it for that long! (I used to work with him and all of our friends in a bingo hall. He doesn't want the nosy customers finding out and badgering him. It took me leaving to get them to stop asking when the wedding is:rotfl:)

20 weeks, WOW. That would definitely be impossible for me.
You'll have to become a hermit for the last couple months as you'll probably be showing!0 -
Fab news Tilly and Mrs T_M, lovely pic too
so reassuring when you see it on the screen isn't it?!
Millysg1, when I was expecting ds I volunteered to drive EVERYWHERE!! Haha! Also had a lot of 'infections' and was on 'anti b's' a lot too!! Just gotta be creative!! We told immediate family (parents) after a private scan at 7 weeks but then no one else till 12 weeks and family respected our decision.
With this one, we've not had a private scan so will wait till 12 weeks before we tell anyone including immediate family, altho I have told my boss at work as I've had a few iffy moments.
As for me, lots of aches and pains and niggles and sore boobs, none of which I had first time round. Feeling very very down too at the moThink I'm gonna spend a day in with ds today as I'm SO tired but not too sure how I'm gonna entertain a highly energetic 2.5 year old!!
Hope everyone's doing ok, I have read back but forgotten most of it! Hello and congrats to any newbies and hugs to anyone that needs them x0 -

Exactly but OH doesn't understand the concept. He works with my best friends and I want them to be part of it. As for customers not finding out, I can guarantee that I will see at least 3 customers every time I go to the supermarket. Try hiding a pram from them! They will find out eventually and I know it's because they give him grief at work, but he's doing his forklift certificate so hopefully will be out of there soon and I can shout it from the rooftops (after 12 weeks of course!)
Although, my friend found out on her leaving party that she was expecting and sent everyone a picture of the test! Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Im interested to understand how many people you have told you are pregnant and when you plan to tell people.
Just delurking to say I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, we told our parents at 8 weeks, my bosses I had to tell at 10 weeks then I told my other colleagues at 13 weeks. My parents have told lots of people they know and some other family members however I haven't really told that many of my friends. I don't plan on doing a big Facebook announcement - not my style. I just plan on telling them as and when I see them and when I feel it's appropriate. Some of them I might not actually tell until after 20 weeks, but I don't see them all that often so that's feasible.
However, it's a bit different if you have a more active social life and generally drink more than me0 -

I agree, im not going to do any Facebook announcement, no scan photos going to be uploaded. Nor picture of my belly every couple of weeks. We plan to just tell people when we see them and other than our parents, grandparents and siblings, im going to leave the rest to my mum who will love telling EVERYONE!
My OH plans to do a mass email to his aunts and cousins, just like his cousin did a couple of weeks ago. It would take forever to call them all up individually and they don't live locally to wait until we see them next. But he is close enough to them that he wants to tell them himself.0 -

I think not doing a big FB announcement might surprise a few people, being as when we got one of our rabbits last year one of my friends asked why I hadn't announced that on there or put up any photos!! So I'm glad I'm not the only one :rotfl:0 -
I told my immediate family and close friends the week I found out (5-6 weeks), with the caveat "it's early days and a lot could happen so keep it quiet". My OH was super excited and basically told everyone he knows, including an (non-anonymous) announcement on a motorbike forum! I don't go out much anyway so no one else noticed the not drinking thing, but I can imagine that (and morning sickness) could be tricky to hide!
I've now "gone public" after my private scan at 11 weeks. It was either that or wait for my NHS scan, but that's likely to be couple of weeks away yet and I couldn't wait that long!
The issue I found was that most of my time was spent around people who knew, and we would talk openly about it, but then I would sometimes forget and let things slip in front of other people!
My first midwife appointment was this morning; it went well and she is lovely. She was very excited to hear about the twinsShe's putting my scan request in as an urgent one so we can get it done ASAP and start the consultant led care.

We're not planning on doing that either. I'm sick of logging on and seeing "my bean this" or "little cricket that" - Whilst I am happy for everyone I think it should be private. What happened to baby pictures on photo albums. At this rate babies are going to have a huge internet presence before they even know what the internet is!Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

I wasn't planning on a facebook announcement either. But then someone posted about finding out they were having twins and I commented, which started a barrage of posts and congratulations from mutual friends and other people who had seen. Then people were asking to see scan pictures so I just posted one without saying much and left it at that. I've not done the whole "I'm pleased to annouce that..." thing, nor will I have my scan picture as my profile pic or anything. TBH the main reason I decided to talk about it through FB at all was because that's the only way I keep in touch with a lot of my friends.
It's also tured out quite lucrative because people have passed on links to things I might be interested in (e.g. second hand twin pram for sale) and offered me loads of their old things for free! People are so very kind0
