pinkshoes - have you read the NHS page on hayfever?
http://www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/935.aspx?categoryid=54
I discussed hayfever with my GP early on in my pregnancy, and agreed that I would continue to take Piriton (chlorphenamine) as and when I needed it. I also bought Prevalin (link below - currently £9.99 in Superdrug, Boots or Lloyds Pharmacy) which is also safe for use in pregnancy.

Hi all, thanks for making me feel welcome in the thread. I went for my private early scan on Saturday and all is well so far! Heartbeat of little bean going just fine and I was bang on with my dates, 7 weeks and 5 days today. Keeping my fingers crossed all continues to be well, for all of us!0

Hi ladies
I have just found out that I am pregnant after several months being off the Pill. My periods never became regular, but my last one was a little less than 6 weeks ago, so I reckon I'm somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks pregnant. I haven't started the dreaded nausea stage yet but my boobs are very sore. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, and wishing everyone luck for healthy pregnancies

Wow Aunty Pickle, that's a lots of symptoms for five weeks, hope you feel better soon! But also secretly wondering if you'll be the next lady to announce she's having twins
Hope all goes well with your scan today Mrs TMif you don't mind me asking how come you're having two scans in one week?
Hi Crazy Daisy Dee - I'm 7 weeks 5 days tomorrow so you're one day ahead of me! Does that make your due date 1 April? Glad all was well with your scan. I have another scan tomorrow and looking forward to seeing our little bean better all being well.
That reminds me I don't think I've seen my due date twin for a while - Danielley are you still out there? Hope alls well with you!
Hi Gaylegoo and welcome! I think one of the other ladies has an early scan as she's not sure of dates either (is it Missymoo? Sorry if I've got that wrong!) so maybe you will have one too?0 -
Thank you everyone!
I actually felt a bit better later in the morning and managed to eat about 3 ginger biscuits and some cheesy cracker things (my OH bought me - bless!) before 10am which is earlier than previous days! I just physically can't eat anything when I first wake up and even drinking is hard.
Anyway, people at work are being nice and sympathetic (I work admin for nurses) - there I was this morning, going into work with a big bottle of water, and packs of ginger biscuits, plain crackers and cheese crackers!!!! :rotfl:
I also have tender boobs, and am extra sensitive to smells!! My poor OH tries to give me a hug and I tell him to go away 'cos he smells. He then looks confused because he's just had a shower or whatever!!!
There's no history of twins in either family so that would certainly be a shock!!
Sorry to everyone who's having a hard time and hugs too for everyone who's ok!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Pickle I had most if the same symptoms as you, haven't actually been sick but from weeks 4-6 I felt sick most of the day everyday & also couldn't stop going to the loo, sorry if TMI! Since I got to 6 weeks I seem to have gone the other way with the toilet buisness & sickness feels better although I still can't eat a lot! Glad you've found something you can eat, but try to keep drinking as it's so important!
Hope everyone else is feeling ok, I've got my private scan on Thursday, I can not wait! I don't think it'll really feel real until I see it & I'm desperate to know everything is ok! Still doing the odd test, think I'm up to about 15 positives now, really should start sinking in now! Haha! xx0 -
I need some sympathy.
I have horrendous hay-fever. Snotty and totally bunged up nose, itchy eyes, and the sneezing is getting comical - I managed 9 sneezes in a row just a minute ago.
All my lovely hay-fever medications say do not use if pregnant.
I had to take a tiny amount of decongestant drops at night as otherwise I can't sleep.
Bleugh. Just bleugh.
Ok, I feel a little better for having a moan, but still exceptionally snotty.
I'm on 10mg cetirizine hydrochloride tablets, which are also safe during pregnancy, just let your midwife know all of the medicines you are taking, including vitamins.Tilly_dreams wrote: »Hope all goes well with your scan today Mrs TMif you don't mind me asking how come you're having two scans in one week?
Our original 12 week scan is the one on Wednesday, and today's was just a quick one to make sure that the campylobacter and severe dehydration and hospitalisation hasn't done any damage.
Everything is fine and dandy, and I even have a teeny photo! Not very good, but I should be able to get some that are better (better camera, more time allowed) on Wednesday.
Dates are still correct, 12+3!
(Sorry that it's blurry, but I'm fat! lol!)

Tilly Dreams - wow that's great we are really close! Yup, due date 1st April, no joke! ha ha. Best of luck for your next scan. I have not heard a peep from the hospital despite being "high risk" and the GP sending my notes over a week ago. I am not sure if I am supposed to chase them up or wait, so will give it another week I think before I worry about it.0
