Hi Mrs TM - that's a good call re pads! I was thinking a spare pair of pants might be required just in case
Wow congrats Pington! Twin pregnancies are becoming more common on this thread than single ones!!!0 -
Pington and carrot, are you as shocked as I am? I had been making all these plans for one baby and now there's two. I am delighted but scared too! I am going to move over to the next thread as I am 13 weeks tomorrow, see you all there xxx0

Congratulations Pington and Jammy!
I am so glad there are others I can ask advice from! I don't know anyone else with twins so I'm glad there are others here.
This has been the biggest shock but we are slowly coming to grips with it!
Good luck and I'll see you both on the other thread soon!0 -
Amazing news pington!! I wonder who the next person will be to say they're expecting twins!?
I actually don't know how I would feel if I was given that news... I would obviously be over the moon but I would feel even more unprepared than I do thinking I'm having the one! At least you will all be able to share stories and experiences here

Welcome crazydaisydee and Aunt Pickle, hope the next 7-9 mths are as drama free as possible!
Wow scmp, 18 weeks?! Looks like you'll be meeting your little bean earlier than expected! Hope all goes well!
Huge congrats Pington! Must be the season for twins!! Exciting times!
All being well hopefully see Mrs TM and jammy26 on the next thread!
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend x0 -
I'm still staying here until after Wednesday, at least officially! I'll find out how many we will be having (hopefully) tomorrow, but I'll have to keep quiet about it to DH, since he can't go with me tomorrow. He will be going to Wednesdays scan though.
I'm scared and excited all at the same time. I probably won't not be scared about losing the baby until it's here in my arms due to last time.0 -
so, any tips for dealing with the nausea/vomiting and diarrhoea? I have lost 2kg (about 4.5lb) in this last week. I just can't eat anything until about 11am. And then just bits.
I wake up feeling ok then naively think "oh, today I'm going to feel ok" and then I just start feeling worse.
Then I end up in tears because I feel pathetic 'cos I know some people have it a lot worse.Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Aunty-Pickle - The age old 'advice' is eat tiny amounts, but often. My first pregnancy I felt so nauseated until I'd eat a bite or two of something, then I'd get ok. Not great, but do-able. I haven't had any morning sickness, even nausea really, with this one, but I kinda credit that to my prenatals, they have ginger in them. Don't know if that's why or not, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
The main thing is to try to stay hydrated. Little one will get what it needs from you regardless, but the placenta doesn't usually start forming until 6-8 weeks, and typically is fully formed by 12-15 weeks (which is when morning sickness *usually* subsides).
Welcome to this crazy hormone ride and feel free to blame the baby with everything for now.0 -
Pickle, my tactic was to keep a packet of ginger biscuits by the bed and eat one before I got up to do anything!
Thanks to all for the congrats. Jammy and Carrot it looks like we have an extreme time ahead of us! it's nice to know of other people going through the same.
Do you know if the due date needs to be changed when it's twins? My current estimate is for 40 weeks; should it officially be changed to the 37 week date or anything?0 -
I need some sympathy.
I have horrendous hay-fever. Snotty and totally bunged up nose, itchy eyes, and the sneezing is getting comical - I managed 9 sneezes in a row just a minute ago.
All my lovely hay-fever medications say do not use if pregnant.
I had to take a tiny amount of decongestant drops at night as otherwise I can't sleep.
Bleugh. Just bleugh.
Ok, I feel a little better for having a moan, but still exceptionally snotty.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
