Had my 12 week scan today and I am expecting two very lively babies. Didn't register it was twins for a few minutes and am speechless and delighted!0

Wow - congrats to both Carrot and Jammy on the twins! And hope you are feeling on the mend MrsTM.
Sorry I've been missing in action for a bit. We had our scan last fri which dated me as 13+2 and all looked fine so we've had a bit of a whistle-stop tour of both families telling everyone. Hadn't told anyone until the scan, not even my mum! She was delighted as expected as were the rest of my family and all of hubbys too actually We didnt think his parents would be that bothered but his mum cried and his dad looked really excited bless. Then I told work on Monday - I was really nervous as someone on my team had just left on mat leave the previous week but the bosses were all lovely and all 30+ staff are very happy for me/us. A few people had guessed already although not many - apparently it was my eating quite a lot less healthily than usual that gave it away so for any of you still wanting to hide it try not to change your eating patterns too much! I'm technically 14 weeks today by the scan (although I think I'm a bit less) and my uterus felt particularly raised today so think I've 'popped' a bit - its nice to not have to hide it any more! Seeing my best girl mates for a catch-up this weekend so can't wait to tell them face-to-face and then i'll proably text a few friends who are further afield and then pretty much my whole world knows! Its weird to allowed to be so open about it now after keeping it a secret so long!! So exciting though.
I guess I'll move on up to the next thread now....see you all there soon!0 -
Wow! 2 sets of twins!! Huge congrats and best of luck Carrot and Jammy!
Glad you're feeling better and bleeding has stopped Tilly_Dreams, sounds like you've got a tough little bean in your hands!!
Hope you're feeling better Mrs TM, rest up and get OH to wait on you hand and foot!!
Sounds like i did get a bargain Missymoo!! Worth earth penny whether it's £50 or £100 IMO!!
Hope everything goes ok pinkshoes, I guess it's a good thing that they're being proactive even if you don't see your midwife beforehand.
Think I saw a couple of graduates moving to the nxt thread, huge congrats ladies, hopefully see you there soon!
AFM, not much to report, had a lovely couple of days with ds, he's at such a fab age and comes with all kinds of random new stuff everyday that has me in hysterics! Wishing away the days till my booking in appt tho!! x0 -
Doing a bit better. Toilet trips are fewer, but still fairly liquid. I'm drinking loads of fluids and easy to digest foods. Stayed in bed nearly all day today, and I'm still sleepy!
DH is being great with most things. He even picked up some instant mashed potato mix for me today (something I like to keep on hand when I'm sick).0 -
Hi!
We went for my scan on Monday and I was actuall 18 +2.... bit of a shock so i have moved over tot he 12-24weeks thread! Due January 10th!0 -
Afternoon ladies :-) I'm unexpected home earlier than planned so have time to catch up!
Missymoo - Two weeks to wait then, hope the time flies by! We have told my mum and my husband's parents. I've also told my boss and a lady at work today that I don't really know but I needed her to help me carry stuff! Oh and my husband's told his brother. We figure if you'd tell people if the worst happens you might as well tell them now while it's still good news! I definitely wouldn't be able to keep it a secret from my mum if she was living with us, I already have pregnancy books and leaflets lying around the lounge!
Hi Pinkshoes - Wow, that must be a bit mind blowing, hope you're ok. Do you know yet when the early scan will be? Hope you don't have to wait too long.
Jammy - Big congrats on your news! How exciting! You've probably seen Carrot is expecting twins too so you'll be able to compare notes!
Nicky Noo Na - Glad your 12 week / 14 week scan went well! So do they change your EDD as well? Must be really nice telling everyone
Hi Always Alone - Glad all is well with youdon't worry, I plan on having my husband running around after me even more than normal this weekend
Mrs TM - Glad you're feeling a bit better. Don't they say your body repairs itself when your asleep more than awake so sleeping is obviously good for you!
Scmp - Wow did you think you were 12 weeks? That's a big jump up! If you're anything like as impatient as me though I'd see that as a really good thing! Hope all's well - not long to the 20 week scan then!
As for me, I'm doing ok. Still no more blood so a lot happier about thatThis is tmi but I am having some brown tinged discharged though which I hope is nothing to worry about. My midwife is coming round my house tomorrow morning to do my booking in appointment so I'll ask her. I really need to tidy up first! Maybe that can be a little job for my husband tonight
I'm feeling a bit tired and achey after the event earlier and it's been a tough week, but time to chill now. Look after yourselves all xx

It was the doctor I saw, so I assume I'll just get a letter in the post or phone call??? He didn't mention that I had to do anything.
You get a midwife to come to your house??? The first available appointment with the local one isn't until mid-September! Definitely make hubby do the tidying! It's a boy job!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Hi Pinkshoes, sorry I just thought they'd do it pretty urgently! When my GP referred me for an early scan he called the early pregnancy assessment unit while I was in his office with him and made the appointment there and then. I just thought they'd let you know what they were going to do so you knew what was going to happen and when! I'm sure you don't have to do anything, just wait to hear I guess.
My midwife is on holiday for two weeks after today so I think she's trying to squeeze me in before she goes away! At the risk of sounding really ungrateful - it's a little bit annoying she's coming round cos she doesn't give a time so she might not be here for hours but I've had to get up early just in case0 -
12 weeks today, tentatively going to be both here and the next thread up until my dating scan on Wednesday though. Weighed myself this morning and I'm 20 pounds down in a week from being so sick. Times like these actually make me a bit happy that I am so overweight, I can lose 20 pounds and it not really affect anything!0

Hello everyone! :hello:
I am coming to join you as I'm 5 weeks with our first!
I told the GP yesterday while I was there for something else and so I have a pregnancy information pack and they said to make an appointment with the midwife for when I'm about 8 weeks.
So far the worst symptoms are the nausea, bloated and very sensitive tummy, vomiting and (ahem) going to the toilet a lot! At work my office is on the 3rd floor and the toilets are on the ground floor!! Fortunately work times are quite flexible so I'm hoping to go in later ~9am instead of ~8am and just work later (I'm only part time) so I can be at home until the worst is past!
Ooh, sorry, mini-essay there!!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0
