I cried through the whole of Forrest Gump, from start to finish. I never cry at TV/films!

    Hahaha:rotfl:

I'm sorry for laughing but that tickled me.

    I'm a crier so that doesn't help!

  • Hi ladies! Just a quick update from me - had my scan earlier and everything's ok! Such a relief, I'd convinced myself the worst had happen after last nights bleed but baby's actually doing really well and has had a huge growth spurt! Was measuring a couple of days behind 12 days ago but now measuring four days ahead - 8 weeks and 2 days by their measurements but 7 weeks and five days by my dates. Baby measures 17mm!! Got an amazing pic too where you can see the head, body and arms. Really happy now :)
  • Oh yay Tilly that's great, been keeping an eye out for your message all day! So pleased for you! :T Enjoy it :A
  • Thanks Crazy Daisy Dee :) just got wait for my 12 week scan date to come through now, should be around the same time as yours so fingers crossed I get my letter soon too! I really hope the bleeding stops now, they couldn't see any reason for it but said no lifting, pushing or pulling heavy things and no hanky panky! If I get any more bleeding I have to get referred back via my GP and a doctor will have a look at my cervix which doesn't sound like fun :-/

Brilliant news Tilly; you must be thrilled!

I've got my first midwife appointment in the morning. She might be a bit surprised when I tell her I'm having twins and hand over the pictures :)
  • Yes i'd say that your scan will be close to mine Tilly. I will actually be 12 weeks and 3 days by the time I get my scan but where I live is very busy with babies and they are closing the Maternity department at my local hospital too for some mad reason. So you might get yours before mine! I'll keep my fingers crossed the bleeding stops for you.

Hope the midwife appointment goes well tomorrow Pington
  • Thanks for the nausea tales ladies, I think I've been lucky so far but it's still early days so I'll see how the current cramps and weird stomach feelings take me! I'm just pleased I'm not off food, I love to eat :oPington, you made me laugh when you said how you laid down in your pants on the cold floor... my dog does that (obviously not in pants :p:o) but she loves the cool floor of the bathroom or kitchen when she's too hot so I may be joining her!!

Glad the scan went well Tilly and I'm pleased you got a lovely picture :) And on the subject of pictures, thanks Mrs_T_M for clarifying what way up your little one is :p

Only way I knew was that at this age, when they look at the scanner, they have this weird creepy skeletor thing going on with their head because of the little facial bones! We have a scan photo of Dale like that and it's creepy! lol!

Im interested to understand how many people you have told you are pregnant and when you plan to tell people.

Ive always said I would wait until after my 12 week scan before telling anyone other than my OH. at 6 weeks im already struggling with the lies and coming up with excuses to not go out or not drink.

This is my first so I still have quite the active social life (apologies if I insult anyone by assuming that after my first I will have a less active social life). Last week I had a hen party, this weekend im out for dinner, out for lunch and have a birthday party. the weekend after ive been asked out by my sister to the pub.

Now, I know some people tell their closest family and/or friends earlier than 12 weeks but I never used to understand that. If I told my parents, my mum would struggle to not tell people, and if I told my parents I would obviously have to tell my OH parents. And as lovely as they are, if something bad did happen, his mum is a bit overbearing and a worrier and she would drive me mad with her constant fussing and worrying. Also, as it will be their first grandchild, they are going to be so very excited and I would hate to then disappoint them.

If something bad did happen, then im perfectly happy to get through it with just my OH.

Anyway, what are other peoples plans with telling people? (especially as im known for loving my wine)
