Thanks Daisy and Tia - I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. No sign of anything this morning and having read up on it last night, I wonder if it's a bit of implantation bleeding.

Please don't worry about upsetting me, I'd rather have honest words than tip toeing around a subject.

Busy day ahead for us as we're helping friends collect antique furniture for their georgeous house that is being done up at the moment.

    Have a great day

Monty & Sewit, so glad your scans went well and fingers crossed everything continues to be ok.

Gelly, I've read tons and tons of stories in my obsessive internet hunt for "if anything was wrong would I definitely know?" where people have had brown blood/discharge early on and everything has been fin i don't think I'd be too concerned but would speak to the midwife anyway.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my paranoid ranting yesterday. I phoned the midwife, didn't get to speak to mine but did speak to someone who was rather patronising and told me in a squeaky voice that I'd just have to wait till my 12 week scan to find out if anything was wrong. DH told me to book another private scan if it would make me feel better and we are going at 3pm today.

Funny enough, as yesterday went on the feeling of absolute dread died down a bit and today I don't feel too bad, nervous for the scan but no longer convinced that anything is actually wrong. Perhaps it's just hormones making me go mental?

    9+2 today.

Quick question ladies and apols in advance if this is TMI - just popped to the loo before bed and I noticed a bit of brown blood on the paper like before or after a period - is that normal or should I get it checked out? It's still really early and I've not had any cramping so I'm worried as I didn't get anything like that last time

    Thanks in advance
    Gelly x

Gelly just de-lurking to say it could be implantation. I had this when I got my BFP...actually didn't realise I was preggers and assumed it was AF. But I also had brown spotting right up until 12 weeks and I'm 18 weeks now and everything is going well. I was told that brown spotting is fine as it's old blood x

Gelly - I was always told that brown blood was old that more concern is given to red blood loss having had experience of both I know how scary it can be.

Thanks all for your kind words of reassurance - have still got a little but of brown every now and then but it us early and at the end of the day, if it's not meant of be then nature will do whatever it needs to.

Angel- guess you are in for your scan now, thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

Carrot34 I've had barely any symptoms too, didn't even POAS until 7 weeks and it was a bit of a surprise then! I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and the only symptoms I've had since are very slightly sore boobs and two stinking colds (I never usually come down with anything!)

TBH, I feel like a bit of a fraud, I'm nervous for the scan I case they tell me it's all been in my imagination! Glad it's not just me that's not really had any symptoms!

So happy to say that I was totally wrong. Our little blob is doing absolutely fine. Dates are bang on (he measures 9+1, which given that my cycles are about 30 days is exactly where it should be), good heartbeat, he was dancing round the screen putting on a little show for us. He looks like a proper baby and not like a prawn anymore!

I know that once you see a heartbeat at this stag the chances of it going wrong are pretty slim so I know I'll be able to relax now.
