Just off to my scan ( 53 minutes!) I just wanted to say thans for all the lovely messages and I might not be able to post about the scan till after work as today happens to be the day where I'm working in the hospital where I'm being scanned and as most of you know access is pretty blocked and using mobile phones a pain!
Good Luck montydoggy. SO hard to know which way people go...
Hope all went well xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Oooh welcome to those who have recently had their BFPs
Such a magic time. Vodkashot - quite a few on here had bleeding/spotting but pregnancies progressed well regardless - hope it's the same for you, especially as you've been ttc for so long.
Excited to hear how your scan went lilmissreading - fingers crossed it all went well. I'm really looking forward to mine tomorrow, but also quite nervous - at least it's mid-morning so haven't got to be thinking about it all day!Total money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!

Hello ladies!
Tried to update the list but on a tablet so not so easy, will do later.
However that is not the exciting part. Had my 12 week dating scan at 8.20 and right up to the point they put jelly on my tummy and I'm staring at the screen which is all black, I'm thinking, I knew it there's nothing there, I am madder than I realised.
Suddenly a bit of pressure from the sonographer and we could see a sideways lying millimetre (our name as find all the others so clinical)! Apparently mm was fast asleep (had drunk some fruit juice hoping it would get through and the sugar would cuase some dancing) but in the end it turned out to be good as she was able to get all the measurements and tell us everything seemed fine as far as they could tell! 6 cm in length and then we saw the heart (like a magic eye picture couldn't see anything and then there it was!) It was at this point suddenly mm woke and starting doing back flips and roly-polys which was very reassuring.
So all my panic was nothing and my fears have been assuaged! Told my my immeidate supervisor and one main boss. Got another main boss to tell tomorrow then might start spreading generally.
Speing of which I would be very grateful for anyone's thoughts on the below email to a friend. She is due to come for dinner on Sunday with a lot of other school friends. She has been trying (not properly in her words) for over 18 months and am aware announcing it at dinner table might be tactless. Lots of people have already given me some advice so hope I am following it:
Email subject: email to read in quiet moment
'Hey honey!
How are you? How's work? Have the people improved or at least is the end in sight? Sorry to hear's been crud.
I am emailing specially as Richard and I are going to announce on Sunday that we had a 12 week scan today and are hopefully having a baby in october. I wasn't sure whether, as you are the only other person I know ttc at the moment whether you wanted to know this in advance or I'm over-thinking this but hey no harm done so long as you keep my secret until Sunday!
I'm really looking forward to SUnday.
Take care hon.'
Is it patronising? She's a great friend and will be happy for me which is exactly why I want to tell it properly.

E mail sounds good . Are you able to speak with her ring her may be a nicer way to announce your fab news ?? XIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Lilmissreading I think the email is perfect and you're a very considerate friend. So pleased your scan went so well.
Congrats Star xx
I have now done about seven tests over the space of four days and am definitely pregnant. I'm not 100% sure how far along but I think about 5+4 assuming my last cycle was 30 days. I have an appointment with the midwife on Wednesday and can't get my head around the fact that I need to see a midwife!
Did any of you tell anyone very early? I've told my parents (they are elderly and have had a lot of bad news lately so thought it'd give them a bit of a lift) and my three closest friends who are like my sisters and supported me through infertility and were there through all my ups and downs, I figure if the worst happens I would tell them anyway. Not telling DH's parents yet though, or anyone else.0 -

I've told my parents and a couple of mates who were good to me when I mc last year. Like you say if anything is wrong then I would want "them"to knowJoined SW on 1.5.14 - Weight 11 stone 11

I sent a photo of the digi test result to my family whatsapp group about an hour after p'ing on it! Some would say we are a little too close as a family.
So that was my brothers and sister and parents. Dh told his parents only first day. Im very close to my family and they would be heartbroken if I didn't tell them. Plus most knew I was ivf'ing. Told my boss a week later as he knew I was due a result (had to approve the time off for scans etc) and I didn't want the 'sad eyes' look if he heard nothing and assumed the worst. He has been 100% supportive through all my cancer and fertility treatment so I wasnt concerned about telling him, and if it went badly i especially need him to understand.0 -
Lilmiss.....great news
. Email looks fine to me although if you're able to call and speak to her personally it may go down a bit better? You know her best so you'll know which way will be best for her to hear your news.
Angeltreats.....hi and congratulations! We told people early, didn't really have much choice. I found out at 4+3 on 11th February and I think we told DHs parents and my mum the following Sunday once we had got our heads round it. My boss followed the week after as I was suffering vertigo and I found I was unable to work at height which my job requires to complete some tasks. We incorporated those tasks into training for the troops so I didn't have to tell anyone else on site until I was 9 weeks and I was told my job was being advertised the following week sot hat they could get someone in place ASAP for me to train up. Everyone else on the 'need to know' list has followed since that incase I got out due to work.
I've got my scan next week at 13 weeks so keeping the fingers crossed it hasn't all been in vain.....No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000
