Hello all - room for a newbie?
I am 4weeks+2 with my 1st, very surprised as I was diagnosed with PCOS in January and told we would be in for the long haul. 1 cycle of Clomid later and here I am!
Waiting for the midwife to call me this week to schedule dating appointment - my doctor said I am 6 weeks+2 according to my last period, but I know this is wildly inaccurate due to my PCOS and long cycles.0 -
Can't send me until 11.30am tomorrow.. ! What am I meant to do until then??!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0

Go to A+E! They can't turn you away0 -
Midwife said A&E don't have any scanners when I asked if that was an option
She says if more symptoms or gets worse I can phone hospital and they may see me earlier but they have a backlog from weekend and need to triage cases.Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -

I doubt they don't have any scanners tbh, they use ultrasound scanners for more than just gynecology. Personally I would go to A+E anyway; I'd feel better than waiting at home.0 -
My midwife said here, A+E would put you through to the EPU as an emergency case. But maybe it is different for different hospitals. I think I would also go to A+E rather than wait at home, and make a big fuss (or get my husband to make a big fuss...I am a wimp!).

When I went to A&E with bleeding, A&E just assess you, take bloods etc. Then they send you to the relevant maternity dept. So it doesnt matter if A&E themselves wont have a scanner! Id just go if you want to.
Or, ring triage and see what they say.
However, the only thing I can say that helped me when I had to wait a couple of days for a scan, was that the dr said if you wait for a day or two, the scan result should show what is going on. Whereas if I had got it straight away, it might have showed everything was ok only for it to go wrong a couple of days later, if you see what I mean. Basically it would be a more accurate report if you see what I mean, and then if its ok you can truly relax rather than worrying still thats its just the start of something x0 -
Phoned the gynae ward as think bleeding getting heavier. Basically said as got appt tomorrow just need to wait till then - they wouldn't be able to scan me till then anyway.
To phone back if filling a pad every hour...Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0
