I started cross stitching a Winnie the Pooh picture for my baby the day after I got my BFP :rotfl: I've had the pattern for years too but was saving it for when we decided to have a baby so I was really excited to start it. Once the morning sickness started I couldn't manage it though. I've only started picking it up again now I have the odd day when I feel OK.
Booked my scan appointment yesterday for 17th March when I will be 12+1...so excited!0 -
The kind of afghan blanket I want is hard to come by now although I think I found a stockist, will just need to remember to give them a call on Monday to see if they still have it!
Managed to sort the holiday out, change of dates and destination but working out about the same price. Phew!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Our hospital do the dates by the baby size on the scan day too. They weren't able to do a fully accurate date last scan as apparently baby was measuring 7+6, and it's only accurate from 8 weeks (my dates put me 8+2).
With DS they measured him a couple of days earlier than my expected dates, which was just enough to stop me qualifying for SMP based on how long I'd been with my employer. I did ask very nicely but they said it was all done on computer and they couldn't give me the later date. Luckily employer either didn't care or didn't notice for those couple of days, so I still got SMP
MrsC, good news about your holiday!
I'm a cross stitcher too, but I've just finished a birth sampler that I was commissioned to do (see link for which one I did) and don't feel like doing another one. http://www.stitchcraftcreate.co.uk/new-baby-cross-stitch-kit#.UxJGtPl_voE
I'm also trying to knit a dragon for a friend's baby, who was born recently (early - grr) thought I had more time to get it done! Knitting is making my back muscles sore now I'm pg, so I'm finding it really hard.
I also have Tradewinds by Teresa Wentzler just started http://www.twdesignworks.com/Designs/tw_l.html which I think will take me at least a year... possibly longer! This will go in DS's room when done, so maybe I will have to do something different for #2 at some point.0 -
Oh, as for buying things... well we've got more than enough boys clothes as we kept all of DS's stuff. Probably means we'll have a girl...0

Bluebell1000 those are lovely! Might have to do a sampler too!0

When one of my friends had a baby about 7 years ago, I got all inspired and made her this:
Then someone else had a baby, and so I made this:
Then someone else had one.. so I made another of the toyshelves, then my nephew was born, and he got a full alphabet which took a solid year to do.
The he had a brother! Who got the 1-10 version in the same design scheme. And both those designs were so hard! 20 shades of one colour where one would do. Then a girl was born who got a different one...
In between lots of friends had babies, and I had got myself caught in a trap. I genuinely can't remember all of the ones I have made.
I think I've made:(as a cross stitch rather than a quilt)
And many others... including a few fully stitched quilts, and patchwork quilts. The first thing I'm going to say to friends when I tell them is that they need to learn to cross stitch!0 -
I've still got a Winnie the Pooh height chart in the loft that I started for my niece (sister of the boy that got the afghan). She'll be 10 this year and I don't think I got one Pooh finished and there's about 6 on it! If I can't get an afghan in the style I want I'll maybe just have to get it out and try and get stuck into it!No longer ...tobe! You've made me think I should be thinking of doing a sampler for my baby.. I'm 22 + 6... So have some time.
Wow! Time2Deal, thats epic!
Bluebell - I had no idea people pay others to stitch, that's cool!
I'm a cross stitcher and sew patchwork quilts etc. I'm just finishing off my wedding sampler... We were married a year and a half ago! I just sort of lost my stitchy mojo after the wedding, but better late than never. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I'm a quilter and the joy of making them is lost when it's expected. I've not sewn in months. Hopefully I'll get the joy back now it's for us.
I'm still getting pains and I've been feeling down the last 5 days. I don't know if it's worry or hormones.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
