    Morning all,

Hope induction went well yday firefly. Will be lurking today for an announcement!

And hope you boldies get to hold you babies soon.

I had a better night sleep too, didn't wake till just before 6am.
Then managed to get online and order a few things from the asda baby event (playmat/gym, hooded towels, bath seat, johnsons toiletry box..). Ordered to store, and should be there by tomorrow evening.

Had my "risk assessment" at work yday afternoon. I've been advised to wear flat shoes, and have my hospital bag with me at work. Really, mind blowing stuff there! He then proceeded to tell me about a woman who was having twins, and then when she actually went into labour there was 3 in there! How on earth can you miss a 3rd baby on a scan!

So, mission for the weekend (OH is working all weekend boooo) is to buy all the last few things and pack my hospital bag.

Can't believe I'm number five on the list now!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes folks, we did manage our meal out in the end, went to a classy restaurant about 10-15 minutes walk away so hubby could have a nice steak and glass of wine and I had veggie cannelloni.

Was up twice in the night but then slept til 9.30 so that was good. Today's plan: pop into town for a few jobs, call my gran, add a few bits to hospital bag. It's been sitting 'mostly packed' for a week or do but there are extras that I can put in now. There will be a few last minute additions to go in on the day too eg phone chargers.

I'm feeling really flaky this morning though, so might just go have another half hour in bed before I make a move!

Just woke up from a nap on the sofa to my midwife phoning me to tell me my scan is on Tuesday morning....another morning off work :D

Becca- my midwife said at first babies head was down but then had abit more of a feel and said it may be under my rib (which I think it is) and with me measuring big she wanted to double check everything with a scan which I don't mind. :p

Well I am not doing much this morning DH is in bed as he is on nights but this afternoon I think I will finish my hospital bag and carry on tidying babies room up. Feet are swollen so they are up, I have a brew and watching this morning, nice. N chilled ;)
Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!

Squ1rrel my physio recommended sitting on a dining room chair too but with the chair back to front. Helps with pelvic position

Thanks for this Becca, I'll give it a go although in my head I'm imagining that infamous Christine keeler pic where she's naked on that chair!!
I'm not usually one to show off but... Guess who slept for 8 hours (without so much as a wee break!) last night?! Woken at 6.30 by DD but feel AMAZING! (40+2)

I'm so jealous. I'm not sleeping at all well recently. Last couple of nights I felt I'd slept so much better but got woken up at 4am by the cat chasing her tail outside our room. I kept her downstairs last night but I woke up at 3am anyway!! I do seem to sleep better at weekends when I know I don't have work so I'm looking forward to starting my mat leave as I think I might relax a bit more!! :)

Hope everyone is well today. Nothing more to add really :D

  • Aaw, how long left at work Squirrel?

Becca my bump is very big and the backs of the dining chairs are very high ... I'd have to watch TV through the slats lol. I may give it a go though as feeling pretty achy at the moment. The birth ball is great but I'm so warm in the evenings that I'm wearing shorts, and the rubber sticks to my thighs :rotfl: So glamorous!

Ooh Fran sounds like a lovely anniversary treat. I can't wait for a proper steak... well done just isn't the same!

Sjlou I keep meaning to check out the baby events, but there's nothing we *need* (not that that'd stop me spending, which is what I'm afraid of!) I bought a Johnson's toiletry box for DD and we still haven't used all of it up - I only tend to use products when there's actual grot to be removed as opposed to plain water 90% of the time.

Thanks for the list BZ... you have done well to be chilled out so far so I don't blame you for going a bit bonkers now you're a whole week over. I am feeling a bit fed up but trying to keep positive... after all, ladies who have preemie babies would probably give anything to be in our position.

Oh bless you Claire, it seems like you just can't catch a break this pregnancy! I know little one will be worth it, but I bet you're fed up too. Hope you've felt better as the day's gone on. And like you say, hopefully it means you'll get an elusive sleeper-througher! :T Lovely news about your friend, what fab weights for twins!

Con1888 thanks for the giggle... might wear one to put off unwelcome visitors in the early days! :rotfl:

Samtoby any word at the docs? Hope you've been more comfy today.

6 weeks tomorrow for me! :D
Just confirmed that I'll use another weeks holiday to finish at 36 +2.

Boots visit at lunch time means I've got a few more bits for the hospital bag.
Anyone bought reusable breast pads and have a recommendation? I got some disposables for now, but might get some others too.

Only used the dispoable lansinoh ones which were quite good. Very soft and absorbant for those leaks, although I tended to leave the tab over the sticky bit as sticking them to the inside of bra made them move a little awkwardly at times. Without the sticking, they still stayed in place just fine - I'm a DD cup, not sure if that makes any difference......

Just nipping on in a brief respite from training! The new woman is nice enough but I hate training people and I hate having people other than close friends/family in my personal space for long so this week's been a nightmare! So NOT what I wanted! I really regret not finishing last Friday, it's been way too tiring this week- people wanting to work late take heed and try to be finished by 36 weeks! :o Ah well... LAST DAY TOMORROW!!! :j

So jealous of your sleep MPM, I was up at 2.50am as usual last night! :o I reckon you got lots of rest because your body know's something exciting is about to happen! :)

I can't believe you've gone so over BZ... I was sure you'd be early yet here you still are! You must be very comfy for Little Zee! :)

I was in Asda last night (don't really need much from the baby event though, we're too organised for our own good! :o) and found that the Cow and Gate starter kits of 12 premade bottles of first milk are less than £15 when they're closer to £30 in other shops! Can't believe the price difference! Bought a pack to have just in case although I keep having dreams about BFing my little baby boy and loving it so hopefully we won't need formula. :)

Can't believe that story about the twins turning out to be triplets Sjlou! It's scary enough when there's a hidden 2nd baby... but a hidden 3rd?! You'd think they'd have counted the arms and legs and wondered why there were extras in there! :p

It's exciting that there are so many of us getting hospital bags ready! I think we're going to look like we're moving in... there's my case (which I still need to add a nursing bra, bikini top and going home outfit to), baby's bag and OH's packed a little bag in case of an overnighter too! :o Boot is going to be full! :)

Met a couple of friends for a meal last night, all the other girls were busy but I'd half convinced myself it was a cover and it was going to be a surprise baby shower- it wasn't! :rotfl: It was exactly what had been planned... I'm a little hurt that they just haven't thought to throw one; especially as this is the first baby of the group and everyone's so excited about being an 'Auntie'. :(
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
