Well my consultant appt didn't quite go to plan but have another in 3 weeks to discuss my concerns re the birth x
Was it one of those things where you go in with a plan to talk about something but then the meeting ends up being about something else entirely?
At least you have another meeting planned.
Kynthia I agree the costs are adding up, and like Birdie our furniture & travel system is being paid for!0 -

I'm on paracetamol but can only take 8 a day so evenings and night times are awful. GP mentioned co-codamol but the midwife said the baby wiill become addicted to it and we'll need to stay in hospital longer so she can withdraw from it. Have taken a few that I already had in the house but they ave me no more relief than paracetamol.
I just cry most of the time due to pain or feeling helpless. Tried to go to supermarket yesterday but hubby ended up having to go in without me as I was in so much pain.
Everytime I get upset I worry that I'm harming the baby- just had enough now and I'm only 33+5.
I feel useless, rest of bits we need are going to have to be online shops.
Sorry ladies for moaning, just needed to offload a little.
You have my sympathy. I'm starting to struggle too, and I don't even have proper SPD. I'm only 31 weeks, but my hips and pelvis are very painful. My midwife offered me a physio referral at my 28 week appt, but I turned it down because it wasn't too bad then. Will definitely accept it when I see her this week!Mortgage when started: £330,995

Yes it was! I'd planned to go in there & discuss my concerns around the GBS & how that will impact birth... He picked up on my notes straight away that baby is measuring over so was whisked in for growth scan. Back in 3 weeks for more checksFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Good evening all,
Congratulations Rummer.
Good luck with the induction Nickit.
Mincepiemonster - Sounds like it won't be too long now:D.
Becca - Sorry your consultant appointment didn't go as planned.
afm. Had consultant appointment this afternoon, mine didn't go as planned either Becca. Was supposed to be for a growth scan, set and induction date and POSSIBLE sweep. Got there and no growth scan, doctor asked if he could examine me to see how things were going so he would know when to book induction and then I hear him say - she's 2-3cm dialated I could break the waters now!!!!! Cue me panicking:eek:
So now I have been having watery discharge since the appointment at 2pm followed by some cramping and back ache. The midwife told me I could 'go at anytime now' and if not I am booked for induction at 8.30 on Wednesday morning:eek:0 -
Good luck Nickit, mincepiemonster and firefly, looking forward to your birth announcements.
We had our 20 week scan today, everything is looking as it should and we are team pinkI'm chuffed to bits

Best of luck Firefly - exciting!
Becca - hope you get the discussion you want.
I've just come from a physiotherapy antenatal class which was quite good, but essentially turned into a platform for complaining that there are no MW led antenatal classes anymore - my hospital have turned to e-learning. As with the home births (which I can't have) the inconsistencies across the NHS are massive, but I'm still very grateful we have it.0 -
Good luck Nickit. And kerri....
Hope you're not too confuddled from the appointment Becca :cool:firefly369 wrote: »afm. Had consultant appointment this afternoon, mine didn't go as planned either Becca. I'm a mummy! Isabella antoinette born 21:47 on saturday in a water birth at the birthing centre without any pain relief just the relaxed state of hypnobirthing. Born wide awake and alert, cried because the water was a bit cold by then but went straight for the breast. I'm extremely glad to just have the choice! Where I'm from originally, the closest hospital is a 45 minute ambulance ride away and no midwives, so there's no choice in the matter.
Then again, I'm still enthralled with having the option of trains, buses, and taxis as well, we don't have those where I'm from either.0
