Since I'm here, I want to say thank you to everyone who offered support regarding my worrying 1/30 NT test results. I did have the Amnio, on Wednesday, and it went well. I did relaxation breathing whilst they prepped me which really helped. I rested for 24hrs (slept for 5 straight after the procedure). The wait for the results was awful, but I can happily say the FSH results say no Downs, Edwards or Pataus syndrome. The full results are yet to come back, but my pregnancy has returned to 'normal'
. Thank you so much for the calming chat, advice and links to help with desicions.

Same here Claire, I definitely think they push it more in cheshire. when I had my first midwife appt I got a look of shock horror when I said I wanted to have the baby in hospital like I was suggesting something completely out of the ordinary!
Surprising even in the same county there are differences (live in Cheshire west & Chester) but my midwives are from Leighton hospital (Cheshire east). I wanted to go to Chester or Warrington hospital but was told as this is my first baby the care wouldn't be the same and that if I really wanted to go there then I need to make my own plans.....sort of scared me abit!! They didn't even mention home birth but I was set on hospital birth anyway from the start.
Anyway I decided to go to Leighton and so far I am very glad I made that decision as they have been wonderful. This evening we went on a tour of the labour ward, very nice, even the 'medical delivery' rooms, they had patio doors onto the courtyard. But the midwife led rooms were lovely, lovely lightening, birth pool, balls, bean bags, a bed that turns into a chair, goes up n down, back n too etc (hubby will have fun playing with that) plus patio doors onto the courtyard (would be nice in summer), sort of looking forward to my time in that room now (hopefully). Bit annoyed thou as for the 2nd time, the barrier to the carpark has been up but have already paid £3 ticket inside.....arghh!

Kerri - Congratulations:beer: on your little girl. What a lovely name. So pleased it all worked out in the end.
Mrs Happy - Congratulations on team pink;)
BZ - I thought everything was ready until we went to Halfords to pick up our car seat and get it fitted. My car is an older model with 'short' seatbelts and they didn't have anything to fit so in a bit of a panic about that. Have one being delivered on Wednesday so hoping they keep me in till Thursday and someone can bring the new seat to the hospital or we will have to borrow one to get home.
Claire16c - I don't think he actually broke my waters, just said he would be able to and I panicked. Not sure if the watery discharge is amniotic fluid or not. The small scan measurement at 32 weeks has been put down to human error. My boy is measuring just below the 50th centile for the last two growth scans at 34 and 36 weeks (although the measuring tape has been a flat line since 31 weeks!)
I aways knew that regardless of his size I would not be allowed to go over 39weeks as I have gestational diabetes so as my cervix was 'favourable' (soft and partially dialated) they did a sweep today and booked and induction for wednesday just incase the sweep doesn't work.0 -
Good luck Firefly!
Saw your news on FB but congratulations again Kerri! Glad she was worth the wait!
Feeling a bit miffed with my brother right now. He's been mouthing off to my Mum about me not going to classes or doing the hospital tour yet. Thinks I'm burying my head in the sand and I'm not taking this seriously?! Idiot. I was trying for my baby before he even got married and thought about having his own, not my fault he and his wife were luckier than we were and got pregnant faster than we did... so now they're the experts and I'm the stupid little sister who hasn't got a clue! Thankfully my Mum stuck up for me and explained that just because I don't go on about it 24/7 like his wife did doesn't mean I'm not thinking about it, and if I don't want to go to classes etc that's my personal choice to get the information from somewhere else! Urgh, I can't wait until baby boy is here and my brother gives me all of his 'advice' about how best to bring up *my* child!
Oh and another thing I keep meaning to ask, we talked about hair growth and greasiness etc but has anyone noticed a change in hair behaviour?! Mine has always been mainly straight with a bit of a kink but now it's getting pretty darn curly! So weird!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I'all be having my whooping cough at my next appointment a week on Friday- my new midwife is very organised and has a set routine which I am loving and she only gives the vaccine at 31weeks or later :-)
Baby is having a reasonably relaxed day and just reminding she's here every so often - nothing else baby related going on really. Bf is away again so I have lots to keep me busy so probably just notice her movements less. Every so often she must turn and either push herself or the placenta against the front of my abdomen though as it goes really hard every so often.
Going to work through the mountain of washing up I have created and then sit and set myself a new budget. I know I've been spending around £300 on 'stuff' with very little to show for it. On the one hand I'm very annoyed at myself but on the other hand I'm trying not to be too hard on myself as in the 12months since starting work I have cleared my student overdraft (£1000), cleared my credit card (£600 approx), managed to save almost £3000 with bf (so contributed about £1500 to that) and saved £425 independantly....so not as much as I appear to have frittered away but better than I thought.
Has anyone got there mat leave/post baby budget planned? I'll only be getting smp but luckily bf will be taking over paying the council tax and I won't have anything left to pay on my overdraft...going to use Feb to get in to the mindset though!************************************

That sounds lovely... I want to swap to Cheshire east now! Chester is okay as far as I know. All my friends have had okay experiences but it just seems very standard. Yours sounds like it has a few extra touches. But i guess when it comes down to it, I don't really care what my surroundings are as long as the baby is born safely. Although it would be good if I could make things as nice a possible! X0
