Has anyone on here sucessfully used the Emma's Diary Argos vouchers? I;m going to use the monitor one this weekend as it's the monitor I want, but I'm wondering if I can get away with using the £100 original cost of the monitor towards the £150 for £15 off?0

BigZ - they can give you a lower dose that means you can go home and still deliver in birthing centres if that's your choice.
Sorry for being awol everyone, I thought my waters had broken yesterday and I was having stronger contractions than normal although still irregular. Went in to be checked at 10pm and they weren't sure so had to lie on the bed for 30mins. Was another false alarm but the MW did a really really brutal sweep and said when I go it'll be a few good contractions and I'll be in full blown labour!!!
I had the MW this morning, she's booked me for foetal monitoring on Monday as I don't want a medical induction unless there's a medical reason for it. She's taken some blood to check my liver due to the rash on my abdomen. I've got some camomile lotion and it's sooo soothing for it, although I think it's due to hormones and overheating at night. I'm avoiding the phone and people asking me where on earth our baby is...by my dates she's not really late and just due around now, still wriggling in there and I just need to try to relax. I think if I can do that and let go of all the "where is this baby?" rubbish then I'll go into labour. Reflexology in an hour, then I've got some bubble bath, face mask and candles to go soak in the bath (I hate baths normally!) and just chill out.
On another note, I've just taught our Bengal boy to play fetch...I now have both him and our Siamese bringing me various toys to throw for them...they have their own toys which is cute.
Good luck TL!
Thinking of you Jox, hope you and baby aren't kept in for much longer and a huge congratulations on the birth of your little boy.

I didn't think they could/would do that? It's a big part of what puts me off induction too. ..
Apparently if it's the pessary they will give you the option to go home, if it's the gel or drip (for obvious reasons) you have to stay in to be constantly monitored.
I don't really want to be induced but i will be 42 weeks in Tuesday, and the stress of being overdue is beginning to cause problems at home, hubby is mega short tempered and 5 year olds behaviour has got really challenging in the past few days....Perfect princess arrived 13.01.14:):)

Thanks for adding me and the welcome ladies!
Bigzippy - dreamt we went to Bedford to buy a cotbed with TL - never mind the fact that 1. We currently have 2 cotbeds (long story) and 2. I've never been to Bedford. You went into labour and insisted you were fine so we came home and next thing, TL shouts I think my baby is coming! So I called my midwife and ambulance ( live about 30 mins away from nearest hospital). Midwife turns out to be my SIL - both you have your babies in the living room with SIL helping.
Turns out your baby came out fully clothed! How's that even possible? :rotfl:
Nickit78 - fx it works soon. In my trust here, they let you go home after the pessary.
Mrs_T_M - I love that! Can I please pinch the idea for our nursery?
Off to pack hospital bag0 -
Baby is measuring fine and fluid is too! Such a relief. Tummy head & legs all within normal measurements, 2lb 13 was the estimated weight.
Turns out what the dr told me was the baby's head and baby was upside down is actually the baby's head! I did think it felt rather curved for a back so there you go!
Glad we got photos at earlier appts, we paid £2 per picture, now they're £4 or 3 for £10! Must be going to cover the bigger waiting room they've recently put in that was still full to the brim today!
She also confirmed and showed us the girly bits0 -
Mrs_T_M - I love that! Can I please pinch the idea for our nursery?
Sure! I'd love to see yours when it's finished as well!
Everyone will have to wait on ours to be finished, since I'm not even quite 18 weeks yet!
Ended up moving a few of the lighter boxes out of the tiny bedroom, got overwhelmed and came back downstairs. I'm hoping that DH will help me move the boxes of books that are far to heavy for me to carry tomorrow, which will let me reach my crafting stuff. If I can get the crafting stuff organised, then I'll be able to get the baby stuff organised! I have a MW appt Monday (I'll be 18 weeks, but it's my 16 week appt, oopsie!) and I'm thinking about taking a short wander through town to see if I can find some plastic organising baskets that are taller than 2 inches. If so, I can keep reusable nappies, creams/ointments, and the size of clothes little one is currently in organised in those. I'll need to find something with a lid that's easy to open to keep the cloth wipes in, and we need to buy another lidded rubbish bin and a mesh laundry bag for the nappies and wipes. Paint and put up the stickers, and maybe some curtains, and the nursery will be complete, since we aren't planning on getting a cot or any baby specific furniture other than the travel cot.
I seem to be rambling.0 -
TL that's good advice and thanks for thinking of me earlier. You don't have long now til your little girl is here can't wait to see a photo!0

That's great news Claire, glad everything is fine. Bet it was great seeing your little girl again. I'm only slightly jealous0

Claire - So glad your scan gave you peace of mind. Its always a goodfeeling coming away knowing that everything is normal:T
((Hugs)) to the ladies frustrated at being overdue.0 -
claire16c - so glad your scan went well. I know it sounds wierd but does the baby all fit on the screen now or are they larger than that lol. I imagine it gets to a stage where you just seen hands and feet and a limb and not be able to see all the baby in one go.
Mrs_T_M - I love your posts, you are so organised! I think we are going for the hungry catapillar. I don't want anything too pink if that makes sence. If she wants to have a pink room when she is a toddler or something we can change it, but I think we will stick with that idea. Are you finding out the sex?
AFM - been very productive this morning but now my back is hurting. Always seems to happen now so I will mention it to the Midwife. I have done two loads of washing, cleared out old paperwork, loaded the dishwasher, booked DS swimming lessons and sorted out the chickens.
Little love is moving around lots now - I am noticing it in the day as well now where as I only noticed her first thing in the morning and at night after tea when I sit on the sofa.
Don't really want to go out as its raining and I don't need to as DS has a play date until 7pm and being dropped back so might do some sewing as I have a few ideas.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
