  • Sam - so sorry to hear about the health visitor. I remember after my miscarriage year before last drs didn't tell me I needed to inform anyone. So it really upset me when the midwife rang telling me I had missed our appointment. Talk about being knocked for six!!:(

Totally forgot what else I was going to post... brain is not working today.

I managed to venture out today to get the last minute hospital bag bits, I really rather wish I hadn't though :( as ran into an ex of mine so was stopped in the middle of the high street, exactly at the same time my baby's father was walking toward. Anyways low and behold it obviously looked to him like i had met this ex and i'm suddenly the bad guy in all this, despite the fact the baby daddy doesn't really contact me and yet somehow we're in a relationship together??? Oh yeah did I also forget to mention he now lives with another woman (long story) please can someone explain to me how I'm bad person here? Needless to say I've been thoroughly miserable and fed up since :(

I've been fine all the way through but today that really got to me and I've been feeling so drained emotionally. Ended up sleeping through most of the evening and still so tired:eek:

Been having a fair amount of BH today and noticed she's definitely moved lower as struggling to walk, however nausea, acid reflux and heartburn have all come back with a vengeance. Nothing is easing it.

Re: boobs, I had to get mine done early on in the pregnancy, I've gone from a 32DD to a ridiculous 36G. I'm not even kidding I can fit my head into a single cup!!! I dread to think they're going to get bigger!_pale_

Re: names, me and baby daddy decided on LO's first name early on, since then ive decided her middle name is going to be the same as mine and she's definitely taking my last name seeing as we're not and never will be married.

Sorry for being especially grumpy today, I've even tried googling induction methods just so LO doesn't have to feel the way I'm feeling too. Not brave enough to try any of them yet, with exception to the curry:D

BZ- That was a mammoth post. I can never remember everything I want to say to people:o The diabetic clinic went well. He basically doesn't need to see me again as I am so close to induction/due date and the medication is doing a good job of keeping down the blood glucose numbers.

I know I don't have to have to the sweep and to be honest I really don't know what to do about it next week. I'm going to see what the growth scan and the consultant say first before I decide.

Does everyone get home visits from the health visitor? I haven't had one and don't know of any booked. I would be mortified if she just showed up unannounced:eek:
One window to read and one to reply in ;) I can only do it when on the laptop and upright though, hence there aren't usually any personalised replies from me :p

Glad the consultant is happy. I don't know what to do about the proposed sweep on Wednesday either, but see my MW at 11.30am tomorrow (today now! Despite me coming to bed at 10pm ) so need to decide... :o

I've not seen a health visit either. Don't worry :) I asked my midwife about it and she said I'll get a visit about 2 weeks post birth and the midwife will chase them about it. I think different areas just do different things to confuse the rest of us ;)

So TL I'm definitely joining you in the weird dream club. Last night was the 2nd dreM I've had about you lot, although the first was us drinking cocktails, this one was in the labour ward!!

It was like a hotel where we all booked in about 3 weeks before baby was due and we could come and go as we please but when the time came there was a big communal area where we had to go and give birth! Someone had a baby in my dream but I couldn't see their face. Labour only lasted about 10 seconds though!
I then dreamt about walking into a betting shop with my boobs out!! It all went a bit crazy at that point!

To those worried about antenatal classes... I had my booking appointment with a student midwife, who didn't mention them at all, then every time I went I completely forgot to ask the midwife. I finally remembered a couple of weeks ago and have just managed to book on the NHS ones. They're in Feb (4th, 11th, 18th) and baby is due 26th Feb, so fingers crossed bubba stays put til after I've learnt how to feed it on the 18th!!!
The clerk lady was lovely though, and said to speak to my midwife about maybe doing the last session with another midwifery team before I do the others so that I know it's done.
So even if you haven't booked yet, don't despair! :)

    LOL, nice dream Squirrel! :)

Thanks for the advice re: RLT Lola, I'd like a quick birth but not quite 'end of the driveway' quick! ;) Will start taking the tablets next week. No point in even pretending I'll drink the tea! :p

I have no idea if we get home visits from the health visitor prior to birth or not... got a MW appointment this morning so will ask- if I remember! :p I think they do a few visits straight after birth though, I seem to recall a friend moaning about having to wait in all day every few days for the visitor to come and see the baby feed etc.

I'm in a bit of a mess with my MW appointments though, totally forgot to go last week for my 34 week one (was NYE, I went out for the day with OH knowing that I'd forgotten something, but couldn't put my finger on what until we got home! :o) so going today then will be going again next week to get back on track! :)

Sorry you're feeling down and you're caught up in a lot of complicated stuff Bambi. No experienced advice as I've always had a very boring love life (only had 2 boyfriends, married one and the ex lives 100 miles away! ;)), I think you just have to be happy that you know what actually is true and your baby's Dad is probably projecting his guilt about being with someone else onto you!

    Welcome back Mazzarati!

Oh man, the weather is wild here today but want to go with DD2 to the local toddler group. It's only 5 mins walk away so we might just get wrapped up and go. The car is in the garage getting fixed at the mo.

Claire - can't believe you're still getting nausea. It must be driving you mad! :(

BZ - not long to go. Hope everything works out for the best:)

Kerri- How are you? Hope you're managing to relax and not feeling too impatient. :)

Mrs Bunny- hope hr are decent and allow you to take the time off. I'm a SAHM and have a tyrant of a boss ;) my two year old who won't let me take any time off :rotfl:

Samtoby - I complained to the PALS service when I received a letter inviting me to the 12 wk scan when I had had a mc. I didn't want to get anyone into trouble but I just wanted them to put in place a system so that it wouldn't happen to anyone else.

Firefly - is it the RAH you're going to to give birth? I had DD2 there and they were very good. I didn't get any HV visits at all but the day after I got out of hospital my GP visited, then 2 MWs came daily for the first couple of days and then every few days until they handed over to HV but I don't think I actually saw the HV or maybe she came once, my memory is pants.

Bambisbelle - your baby daddy's opinion is ridiculous and not only that you don't have to take on board anything he says. I wouldn't even try to justify yourself to him. Why should you feel bad just because he's being a !!!!!!? Hugs x

    Hello to the newbies

For those of you who haven't booked ante natal classes don't worry about missing them. The ones I went to last time were full of no !!!!!! Sherlock advice like, in early labour you could use a hot water bottle to help with stomach/backache.

AFM - had a scan at 32 wks yesterday and the wee man is not so wee. He's 4lbs 13 and his head size is on the 97th percentile  got another scan at 36wks but I'm pretty much decided I will go for elective section, even tho they will probs try to talk me out of it!

bigzippy, yes please for adding to the list when you get a chance, hope you're putting your feet up today, so close now! I never joined in on the TTC threads as I didn't want to bring anyone down with my secondary infertility after trying so long :o

faithope, wow, your little man is doing well in there! Stick to your guns, you've got every right to request an elective section, and from what I've heard the consultants are getting a lot better at actually listening to the mothers now.

AFM, working from home today and jumping up every time I hear a van outside, as our buggy's being delivered any time now :D I need to get everything ready by 34 weeks as I'm under consultant care for high BP, so if I end up getting admitted for induction or monitoring I want to know everything's done.

Still nowhere near picking a name for our little lady though - we had a boy's name picked out from when we had DD, but her name was literally the only one we could agree on for a girl, so really stumped this time around. I like Alice, Constance (Connie for short) or Lily, whereas DH wants Kristen or Jade, so we're poles apart. Hopefully we'll find something we both like soon!

I prefer your name choices to your OH's Stsarina. They were all on our list! :)

MW appointment was fine, baby kicked a lot as he didn't appreciate being prodded by the student MW and didn't like the cold gel when she listened for a heartbeat! :p Measuring 1cm smaller than I should but got told not to worry. Can't even blame it on baby hiding out of the way as we could see him moving about very clearly! :o Mentioned the ante natal classes and there's an NHS course of 4 classes starting from tomorrow night and she's put me down as a maybe as I admitted I was a bit nervous about going alone. :o Not sure if I should go or not?!

Hope you don't have too much of a fight for a c-section Faithhope. :)
