I don't think you can chill out too much Becca! ;)

I think what you've got planned is good. :) I really need to do some batch cooking but just CBA! :o

Seen the midwife, baby's head is down which is good news. :) Booked in next Tuesday for a sweep if he's still not arrived by then!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Right I'm on a mission! What can I do to make things easier for us when baby is here?

I've written various shopping lists to stock up on bits & pieces, planning to do lots of batch cooking next week & have a list of jobs to do house wise. I'm also chilling out a lot, maybe too much!

I am planning to stock pile non perishibles in the last couple of months, things like toilet roll/kitchen towel/cleaning products/ baby wipes etc can all be bought a lot cheaper in bulk so will be getting that from amazon.

Batch cooking is a great thing to do, i use those disposable foil containers to freeze things in, then the packaging can just be thrown away.
If it is still going to be cold when baby is born a slow cooker is a great idea too - bung a load of ingredients in some time in the morning and by the evening you have a prepared meal, not sure if i will be doing this though with baby due at the end of may!

Edited to say - if this is your first baby...SLEEP as much as you possibly can while you have the chance!! :-P

    Congratulations Faerie and Fran!

Had our breastfeeding session last night. Poor woman got stuck on the motorway (along with a few of us too) so was a little bit flustered!

Was useful though, and she wasn't too pushy. I understand that they're not allowed to recommend bottle feeding but it was mentioned a few times.

She also had a stretchy wrap for carrying baby around and showed us how to use one. Think I'm going to get one of these. Anyone got any recommendations of using one before?

Yoga tonight, then more nct wed night! :p

How come I'm no 1? I've only been here about a week

Congratulations to all the new mummies Jemb, Fran and Faerie! Fab weights as well. Jemb, I want a labour like yours - probably won't get it!

I have tried everything now - clary sage, spicy foods, walks, sex, EPO RLT etc and I feel bump is going to go over. Was sure something was happening Sunday night. Had pains, regular contractions, couldn't even walk or stand straight for about 7 hours then bam! It all disappeared. I was so cross!

Been having period like pains and seem to be losing plug daily so fingers crossed something happens soon.

As for weight - had to lose a bit before treatment so was down to 71kg. Then had very severe morning sickness from weeks 6-18 and came down to 64k. Have now crept back up 72kg as at yesterday. Didn't buy any maternity clothes - just wore tunics and dresses (hate fitted dresses anyway) with tights throughout.

I'm getting a bit paranoid about going overdue and been also having dreams about still births :(. I thought the 2ww was hell. This is even worse!
  • Congratulations to Faerie and Fran-o, lovely names your little boys have.
Well I've had an interesting day. Remember me saying last week my SPD improved dramatically overnight, well this morning physio said my range of movement has vastly improved so wont see me again unless I contact him.
The midwife couldnt find the babys head this afternoon. Even called another midwife in to feel. Consensus is she's either flipped herself breech (but she was head down on scan last week and neither could they find a head up top either) or shes deeply engaged! The fact I can now walk without crutches and minimal painkillers also backs up the engagged theory. So I need to go back next week and if shes the same next week its off for another scan. They didnt seem overly concerned.
They weighed me for the 1st time since booking in- have put 13kg on which I think is about 2.5 stone. Quite surprised as I seem to be all bump.
Last hypnobirthing session on Thursday night- baby can come out anytime after that lol.
    April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£150
  • OH is, weirdly, 13.5 stone. I say "weirdly" because you'd never guess he was that weight if you looked at him - whenever he's been weighed for medicals or GPs or whatever, they've always been astonished he weighs that much; he must have ribs made of lead, or something. You'd guess he was more like 11 stone from appearance.

He's 6 ft 1, but slender, 38 inch chest, 31 inch waist, and it's very odd to consider where he stashes that 13.5 stone.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
