Hi all,
A little late joining but would someone mind adding me to the list please. Currently 35+1, due date 09/03 and we are team yellow.
Was on this thread not too long ago as I have a little girl who is now 17 months old. Am trying to psyche myself up for a lot of hard work!
Have had a brief read back and can't remember who it was who mentioned they were bored and lonely whilst on maternity leave. I would say enjoy it! This is the only time you will get a chance to laze around, watch daytime tv and do whatever you like as next time you are on ML you will probably have another to look after! I finished work at 33 weeks and am more knackered now then ever. My daughter is at nursery two mornings a weeks and the rest of the time I am running around after her and trying to keep her entertained!0 -

Sorry for late reply ladies, Imogen Louisa was born 29th at 5.48am. Gas and air only 3 hours 45 mins from start to finish! Didn't expect either but decided at the hospital on a water birth as had been in the bath at home and helped so much with contractions.
She's gorgeous and we were out same day. Second deg tear for mummy but its liveable as get to stare at her and see how worth it it is and why it's a bit uncomfy downstairs lol!
She got christened the bullet by the midwives as three pushes and she was out! Never been so shocked lol.
Massive tip on the healing Malachy is lavender oil is a god!
Just wanted to say huge congratulations to our honorary July bride. Lovely name and glad to hear you are both doing well.x0 -
Welcome to all the newbies, and congratulations to those who have given birth since I last posted!
Samtoby, I've now gained 3 stone, which when I started at just under 8st is a huge increase in my weight and I'm finding really hard. OH now weighs less than me, something he finds really funny but I'm finding bothers me far more than it should.
I'm working on, have the baby and see where I am after that, no point worrying about it until then.
AFM, have been lurking only recently, had some upsetting news last week which has taken me a while to deal with.
Tomorrow and Wednesday left in work and then that's me done until next year - feels completely surreal!
Can't believe I'm 5th on the list now, although starting to get to the point where I'd like bubs to arrive (37 weeks tomorrow so anytime now would be fine by me!)
Had a different midwife for my 36wk appointment, and she advised me to start trying to encourage labour from 37 weeks...considering the NHS don't actually seem to endorse any of the 'natural induction techniques' I found this a bit bizzare! Anyone else had similar advice?
For those of you who buy pampers nappies...what's a good price per nappy (I'm finding it increases as the size does?) Boots sent me an email today about a 3for2 event on the 5th, assuming this includes nappies I think it might work out worthwhile but I'm not sure! Have also been adding the amazon boxes to my pricewatches - working on anything under 10p a nappy is worth getting but at the moment have nothing to base that on!0 -
Hi, I have been offline for a few days so not read the last few pages but congrats jemb! What a great birth! (Well, apart from the tear obv!) I hope that heals soon and you're not in too much pain xxx
Jennifer I think the weight gain is a bit relative, three stone I think is about average but you still weigh loads less than a lot of people, hey I'd guve my right arm to weigh 11 stone! And even without my arm I'd still be heavier than that lol! :rotfl:
I hope you don't feel too uncomfortable, hopefully it won't be too much longer and I hope it won't impact on your happiness over your pregnancy xxx
Not sure if frano has popped yet but I'm hoping it won't be too long if not! X
Realised today that I'm in my last trimester, its going way too fast!0 -
Hi ladies,
Charlie and I got discharged from hospital yesterday after 6 long days. Charlie came out of special care on Friday morning and we had 2 nights on the ward together.
Had abit of an unsettled night last night but from 2pm this afternoon he has been really good and slept for 2-3hours followed by a feed. Fingers crossed it will continue through the night.
If you have to have a hospital stay.....take some toilet roll. The toilet roll in my hospital was horrid, hurt when I wiped and I only had a small internal graze, no stitches or tears etc. had to send DH out for some and since then going to the toilet was much easier.
Well I suppose I better move on to the new born thread. Mentally I am not ready as still think I am pregnant!! It is lovely to be able to bend down and put socks on though!!
MrsBunny xProud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0 -
That's horrid clare
We get the same salary we are on before mat leave for 6 months. I've had some sickness but I was still paid normal pay. Then 6-9 months I get statutory mat pay £138ish a week I think and after that I'm returning back as we can't afford for me to have no pay.0 -
I would say I wish I had enhanced mat pay but I don't want to go back to the same job so I don't, or I'd have to pay it back but I'm so annoyed I'm not getting what I thought I was. Having that bleeding is going to cost me about £1k in total with that & lost wages at the time! I can't believe I've been in my job for over a year but it's those weeks that get chosen.
Samtoby & Jennifer I can't believe how much I weigh now compared to before (not to other people as I just have never weighed much don't mean it to sound like that). I got on the scales this morning and it said 9st, seeing an 8 something was weird, 9 is just crazy for me - I was 7 when I got pregnant! And I've got 2 months to go! Ive definitely got bigger hips but really I just look like I'm carrying a bowling ball. My old trousers don't go up past my hips anymore. I'm not worried I find it quite amusing really but hoping my hips go back just cos otherwise half my wardrobe won't fit!!
DH weighs 12 st something so I don't think Ill catch him up! Although he's on a new fitness craze too but he is a personal trainer so that's nothing unusual, his weight is mainly all muscle he has no fat.
I think don't worry once the baby is here it will also be the spring, perfect for pushing the pram on walks in the sun!
I don't really know what a good price is but amazon seem to do good nappy deals and Aldi nappies are really cheap.0 -
If it's any consolation, Mary, I realised that too - what with us having the same due date, I think it's inevitable, though!
OH is a mega-fit type all the time anyway, he's done the London triathalon twice, and this April he's doing the London Marathon. I'll be over 8 months by then, so admiring from a distance will be about all I'm up to. That same evening, he and our 8 year old are flying to Israel to Passover (OH reckons he'll get his best ever sleep on a 'plane after that lot) but I can't go. Well, I'd not feel happy about going abroad at that stage, anyway....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
