Jemb massive congrats to you, what a lovely name, glad you and baby are doing well
Claire16c that's ridiculous, and hardly your fault that you weren't well for two weeks, it's a shame there's no room in the policy for exceptions because surely if there were you would meet the exception given it was for sickness and not jus because you wanted to work less etc. how frustrating
AFM, I'm sort of transitioning over from the 12-24 week thread to here at the moment, I'm 24+2 today but I just don't feel quite ready to be in the big girl thread where everyone is talking about labour! I feel like I've got so much stuff to do before baby is born, including rushing through a house purchase  that I refuse to believe how little time there is left! Cue panic stations! Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Just a quick post as on my phone and am... breastfeeding! Jasper Logan was born on 3rd Feb at just before 11am weighing 8lb 5oz. Have to say it was pretty painful but so worth it. We are both home and doing well. Will catchup with all your posts and I will update properly when I get chance later.0

Yay well done Faerie, congratulations!!!! Xx0
-
Congratulations faerie! Looking forward to hearing more!
Msa - when I told DH he was like what were getting less money because you were hospitalised?! I said yes exactly!! If I had know at the time those were the qualifying weeks I would have asked my boss if she would have been ok with paying me in full & docking my pay the following month but I had no idea. I'm not entitled to anything more than stat sick pay but she paid me half pay for one week of morning sickness & full pay for another earlier in the summer so she's been really good to me & probably would have done it.
I'm wide awake might go and watch tv for a bit & have breakfast then get back in bed.0 -
Congratulations Faerie x0

Congratulations Faerie! :j Nice to hear you're breastfeeding too after being worried about it! :T
That sucks about your pay Claire.Sadly it's just one of those crummy things that those of us with 'The bare legal minimum' types of employers have to accept.
I always assumed that my company looked after women on maternity leave since there's such a high rate of retention and we're a big company but no, they give us as little as possible! Rotters! Next time I go job hunting I'll be checking out the maternity policy!
MSA, I can understand the reluctance to join in here properly at first, I couldn't get my head around being on the big girl's thread for ages but it soon catches up with you! It seems like yesterday when I joined but I'm now #3 on the list! Speaking of, well done on all the updates Samtoby!
As for weight gain, I'm now 14st! I started off at around 11 and a half (which was too heavy for me- lots of comfort eating because I wasn't getting pregnant!) so this is really strange for me! OH was horrified when I told him that I'd hit the magic number 14! He's only 12 and a half at his heaviest!
I seem to be all bump though so I hope it'll come off relatively easily. Struggling to plan ahead though, going to a friend's wedding in June and seen a dress I love that's in the sale (but still stupidy priced so can't afford to take a risk on it
) and I just wish I knew if I'm going to be back to normal by then, normalish with a bit of mummy tummy or miraculously even slimmer than I was when I started!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Just a quick post to say baby is here! Was a hard birth experience but worth every moment. Will update full story in coming days, just down on maternity recovery ward feeding little one. We have called him Ewan Lucas
and he was 8lb 5
Thanks for all support and best wishes throughout the pregnancy!fran-o0 -
