Contractions got stronger about midnight so got tens machine going. Hubby stayed up til about 1 timing them, then fell asleep. I've been drifting in and out of sleep but it's hard to work the tens machine when you're semi conscious (and unpleasant waking up to a pain!) so I've been bouncing on my ball for the last fifteen minutes and left him sleeping. Contractions not that regular yet but stronger than an hour ago...

Kynthia sounds like you picked up some great bargains! Like you say, doesn't matter so much then if they don't fit etc.

We have been told our baby is 'chunky' & so I haven't bought much NB stuff. Hubby can go into town (2 min walk from hospital) if he needs to!

I think I'm in a bit of denial.. 36 weeks tomorrow & putting off everything. No car seat base, pram is in box, furniture not sorted (Mothercare fault!!), no clothes washed & I'm avoiding even shopping for my hospital bag! It's very unlike me, I had my wedding planned & organised a year before!

I was told DS was at least 8lbs several weeks before having him-I spent the last few weeks of my pregnancy in a total panic, and got really upset when I went in to labour-he arrived weighing 7lbs 1oz but was very long!

Thanks mrs happy! I've read so much stuff on how wrong they can be baby is the size baby is, nothing I can do about it so just trying to go with it!!

I was told that Isaac's estimated birth weight would be 11lb (!!!!!)

He was born at 40 + 4 weighing bang on 8lb.....

Yeah I have read so many stories about birth weights being very inaccurate. The nct teacher said even the weight estimated from a scan has a 25% margin of error which is a lot for something weighing a few pounds!

So I have bought the 1 tiny baby set as it was in the sale and think it goes up to 7.5lbs and I can't see myself having a baby bigger than that but I will blame the midwife if I do as she thinks she will be 6lb something!

just a brief intro, then I will read a load more of the posts, I am 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first little bundle of joy, we are having a little girl and so far everything seems to be going well. I have a lot of health issues so they have been keeping a close eye on me but sof ar my body is holding on in there. Can't wait to meet her but we have so much work to do on the house first!

Becca, we still have no house, no nursery, no hospital bag, nothing washed and don't even own a pram or car seat yet! Yet if we got told we had to have the baby tomorrow for some reason we have clothes, toiletries, a crib with bedding, a tens machine and a starter feeding set. The only thing we'd have to send someone out for is the car seat and I bet Mothercare would have a maxi cosi in stock. Also we don't need a nursery for now as baby will be in our room. So I'm sure you have the essentials and will be fine.

This is my first week off work so I'm sure I'll get loads done and intend having my bag done by Friday. I'm also hoping to get a tour of the hospital in the area I'm moving to done incase I don't move until a few days before the birth. I was hoping for a suprise baby shower as I've barely seen people due to work and feel I've missed out on making fun pregnancy memories, but I've found out that's it's not happening.

Yes the nearly new sales are great for cheap towels, blankets, gym mats, bouncers, newborn and 0-3 baby grows, baths, maternity clothes, books, toy, etc. I wish there was more taking place in Feb but most seem to begin in March and I might be otherwise occupied then. :rotfl:
