  • Primark have started selling maternity bras. Not sure if it's all their branches though.

I say this to everyone who is packing a hospital bag, but my must have was dry shampoo. Makes you feel human, especially if you end up having to stay in hospital for any length of time.

I have still got constant period like pain, it builds up a bit. They aren't too bad but take my breath away at the peak of them.
I've had these on and off for about 3 weeks now. Usually most nights, worse when in bed at night and take my breath. I mentioned it to my midwife last time and she didnt seem bothered at all but going to mention them again this week. I asked if there were BH and she said no because they would be felt in my whole abdomen which I havnt had any of at all! It freaks hubby out when I start groaning.
Spent ages this morning trying to fit Isofix car seat base. What a farce! The instructions were as clear as mud.

I'm having a right faff with nursing bras... I don't really want to buy any grand new because they're so expensive (in my size, wish the cheapo Aldi ones went bigger!!!)

I'm a 34h normally and although all the cups in my old bras fit the backs won't fasten. I ended up buying a couple of M&S bras on eBay in a 36H thinking a bigger back band would suffice however when they arrived they wouldn't go anywhere near me, even less so than my existing ones.
I've never liked M&S bras so not sure why I bought them really but I thought they might be okay!
Now I've just no idea what size I should get!!
  • There's no substitute for being measured, really. Even if you aren't keen on M & S bras, they are good at measuring you properly, worth a try.

I love M & S bras, they fit me really well.

Squirrel I have in a 40H a black and a white maternity bra that I got from debenhams- if you don't mind second hand and think they might fit, pm me your address and I'll send them to you.

For those packing hospital bags- asda have full white cotton briefs in packs of 5 for £2.75, I took two packs to hospital and threw them away if they got leaked on and I got full briefs in case of a c-section, normal pants would have rubbed on the incision

Good luck to those in early labour x x

Yeah I need to get some granny knickers for keeping the huge sanitary towels in place and incase of a c-section. Maybe I'll go in a shop & buy them with a bag over my head lol

I got an Aldi bra in 34c, the back is quite tight and I'm normally a 32, my other bras still fit ok so I think their back size just comes up small.

There's plenty of room in the cup I'm not anywhere close to being able to wear it yet, it's really impossible to tell what will happen as everyone seems to say get a bra around 37/8 weeks but some of my friends said their boobs didn't change til their milk came in around 3 days after birth.

Oh I wish I hadn't got so excited about early labour on Saturday night... I'm still home with irregular contractions. Feeling very tired due to broken sleep, and the pain and stress of it all! Hubby gone to work but he's only 20-30 minutes away. I called the hospital this morning to run through my symptoms and check everything was fine and they were happy. So going to stay in bed this morning as I'm so knackered, and try and be more active later in the day.

With regard to nursing bras, I got fitted at 37 weeks at a department store. The bras I bought are currently too big in the cup and too small in the band: this is intentional as boobs will grow with milk and band size should shrink once bump gone. I bought four bras (two twin packs) and have one set washed ready to wear, and one left in its packet so it can go back to the shop if it doesn't fit as well as predicted! So my current bras at full term are 40G and they've suggested 38H for nursing (I was 36FF pre-pregnancy).
