Good luck today Durham girl :)

Thanks for all the compliments on my gorgeous boy :D

Becca - I'm ok Thanks :) we got kept in (I totally recommend forking out for the private room (if it's an option) if you have to stay in and you're at all tempted - so much more peaceful) so little man could have a 5 day course of antibiotics (IV). I've already been medically discharged, but am v sore still from the episiotomy, 2nd degree tear and now, piles  MiniZee was back to back during labour, which made the whole thing far more painful and difficult and ended up meaning I had an epidural (that I couldn't previously stand the idea of!) and an instrumental delivery - first a ventouse (sp? The suction cup on baby's head) and when that popped off, forceps. They had to get him out faster as I had a temperature (they treated me as if I had sepsis, and therefore the baby too) and he started having decels. He was born perfect though and is a very 'good baby' - so maybe it's more 'difficult birth, easy baby'...? :p

    Good luck ladies :)

    Good luck Durham Girl! :)

Sorry to hear about all the intervention you needed BZ, but at least he's here safe and happy now. :)

Bambi, I can't see the pic you posted, have you got a link instead? :)

Anyone know how to encourage baby to get into position? I'm so ready for him to come now but he's just teasing me, getting his head down then doing a big wriggle and moving out again! :o

Good luck for today Durham girl!

Well, we picked the keys up for the house last friday, it's so surreal, it doesn't feel like it's ours yet. We are still living in the rented flat until we can get carpets etc fitted. My parents are helping us move the bigger items over tomorrow so I've spent the last few days sorting things and packing up. I had to stop yesterday though after getting bad cramps, think I over did it.

I went to the first antenatal class this week and had a look around the birth centre and delivery suite, it's lovely! The rooms are massive and relaxing, I hope they are free once it's my turn. I am 38+1 but it's still not quite hit me that I'll be having a baby soon!

    Hi delurking to reply!

At pregnancy yoga last night we went through good positions to help baby get into position. I am assuming baby is head down? If so the best thing to get them into the pelvis is squatting if you can, if not sit on one of those little foot stools as much as you can. Apparently it opens up the pelvis and encourages them down onto the cervix and it's good for early labour too.

If you have a birthing/exercise ball bouncing on that is really good too!

    Good luck!!

We do pelvic aerobics at yoga :D You'll feel silly but drawing an S with your hips is a good one to get baby in a good position. Also as cllola said get out your ball if you have one. Try doing a figure of 8 whilst sat on it, again from your hips or leaning over it do a rectangle.

  • Hopefully this will come out right this is the cot link, I wish I had chosen a Disney dream inspired theme for little ones room, this would have fit perfectly.

Hey all, had my whooping cough jab this morning, anyone who is getting it don't worry it was easy, I have only in the last year or so got over my needle fear and today I genuinely didn't even feel the nip ! :)

Hope the move goes well Faerie, remember that you can't do as much as you think you can! Let everyone else do the hard work! :)

Birdie - walking is meant to be good for getting baby down :) I must have walked several miles in the final weeks of pregnancy.

MPM has gone quiet, dare we hope?
