I know it is difficult for people who want a thermal bag to save money but can't afford one but I agree with silvercar - you are a business and you need to think like a business.

Can you do something like Toms shoes? Toms donate 1 pair of shoes to Africa for every pair purchased. Their shoes are priced accordingly.

Could you increase the cost of the bag slightly so as an example for every 6 purchased you make one to give away although it is difficult to know who 'needs' one and who 'wants' one.

What price are you selling them at?

Could the lady not sell the items she wants to swap and then pay you herself?

    My thoughts exactly...

As for donating - if and when you are in a position to be donating your time and materials, have a chat to your local foodbank as they may be interested.

Good ideas. Thanks. I will have a chat with the lady.
I'm selling them at £30 plus the postage, as it's quite bulky, it cost £7.65 last one I posted. The Wonderbags on Amazon are around £60 Last I looked.

As a craftseller some of my stuff can be bulky/costly to post and I have started using My Hermes. They are much cheaper than Royal Mail enabling me to keep postage costs down.

Have to say I agree with the others- cash is king- if she cannot pay that is a shame but she has the option to sell her own crafted items to raise cash to buy one- and if her items are not of saleable quality or difficult to sell hence her enquiry to swap then they may be of limited/little value to you as well. If the items were something you needed or wanted I daresay you would already have been shopping and not waited for someone to suggest a swap.

My thermal bag arrived in a binbag inside a small cardboard box, so maybe you can get the postage down by squishing them into something small?

I'm exhausted. Mentally and that leads to physical.
The state of twin2's place was so bad. Two hours of Biggest and me trying to salvage anything and we had to give up! I am upset, feel I failed Twin2, and that Social Services should be ashamed of their care package. There has been no care in the community for my daughter. Only people who used and abused her.
I just want to cry and cry.
dGD had come with me, I had to drop her with her Mum as it was the better of the two evils.
The housing have a lot of damage to repair, and I feel so ashamed of it all. Although I know I didn't make the mess, I still feel it's my fault somehow.
I cut my thumb quite awkwardly, and so that's put the kybwash on my sewing anything for today at least.
dGD had a McD on the way home, I had reheated a curry from last night.
So we are now home, and it's as dark n dingy out there as my mood!
