Thanks EE I think I will talk to the bank. I was going to yesterday but the jobs got in the way.
Managed to sort out DGDs room, clothes and toys. Given away the.bedside table and sold the old drawers for £10. Just so we can have the space. Got her stuff in a fabric wardrobe I'd got from Aldi, except it's really rather naff. The frame cracked on putting the rod in and the fabric is more like a jay cloth and it tore while I was putting it up! So that won't last very long. Hopefully it will do for a little while until we know when and if we will move.
Re DS? He has had his head in the clouds for years. Sick of trying to ground him. Last thing I want is him to be cannon fodder in the army. But he will be in for a shock with the discipline that's for sure.
I would rather he scoured the country looking for a blacksmith that wants to pay him. It's ok doing it for free occasionally but he needs a wage. He has still not signed on, dispite numerous attempts at getting the job centre to make an appointment nothing has happened.
The bike needs an oil change and a service as the revs are dropping out. So he can't use it until that's done. Which means even more money on his debt to me! I have kept a record.
He has said he doesn't understand why Xbox are taking that money as his sister had agreed to pay for his subscription and Xbox are illusive. To say the least .
So high on the list is to get the bank to help today. He has lost his wallet so he has lost my other bank card( his money was going into an old account of mine when he was at HMv etc). He has debts he is ignoring and I could think of a few things is like to do to him but non are legal! (Joking).
Kick up the bahookie with steel toe caps - mind you the forces would certainly do that!
Time to get on, I have a busy busy day ahead of me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I hate to rain on your parade, but none of the armed services will want him because of his academic ability and passes, his abysmal employment record and his lack of a college foundatiion course in armed services procedures, policies, fitness etc..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Not raining on my parade. I don't think he has a cat in hells chance. He will find out himself. His work references when he finds work are positive, just no body has permanent work for him. Academically he is lacking, due to his dyslexia etc but time will tell. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

.
When you say numerous attempts for an appointment what exactly has he been doing?
To claim JSA nowadays you complete the form online, submit it electronically and within 48 hrs you get a text to tell you when your first appt is. At that appt you get given your book ,make your agreement and told when to sign on again.
Once you sign on (7-13 days later) then a few days after that you get the first payment.
Has he made his claim online yet?0 -
he has tried too and nothing has happened. he also has made calls to ask for assistance, 5 times he has tried in the last few weeks.
Still not sorted. He went in to see them yesterday but I haven't seen him to see what they have said or done to help him.
I just despair that he doesn't seem to do anything easily.
Work is still full of things to make, or mend.
Getting more little jobs to do at home. Typically having problems with my machines tensions. So tonight it's strip it back and work on sorting it out as have a wedding dress that must be done , or it's going to be hand sewn!
slowly things are starting to be collected, and space reclaimed in the house.
Will take me a long time, as house is bursting at the seams! Oops!
DGD likes her bunk beds. We will be able to have other DGD2 to stay now.
Time to get on. Been awake an hour but still in bed. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Yeah it's the weekend.
Currently the sun is actually shining in the bedroom windows. Sun always improves the way I feel.
I have done such a lot of sewing the last few weeks that my knuckles are aching. Hope I am not going to have any joint flare ups. It's been a long time since I did. I mean many years that I can remember any way.
DGD has a birthday party this afternoon. One of my bags as a gift.
This morning I need to do the usual housework and then try to get my sewing machines tensions right as I have alterations to do.
DS hopefully has now got his JSA signed up etc and will eventually receive some help.
twin 2 has been sanctioned again. Silly girl hadn't declared her work at Silverstone last summer . How many times do I have to try and explain it too her? It has lost her money now, affects her housing benefit all over again, and threatens to leave her without fuel and food.
Time to get on. Hope everyone has a good weekend and the floods are not affecting you. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Having a lazy sort of day. Yesterday I managed to finish 3 sewing jobs and delivered them. Also sold a dress successfully from the Car Boot thread on Facebook. But the sewing machine is still messing me around so I had to do them by hand. (Once I had done the overlocking).
I still have a wedding dress to sort out, but will do that on Tuesday now. When I don't have people in and out, and I have made sure everywhere is supper clean first.
I think I will have to dig out my other machine and see if that will be better then this machine as It is driving me nuts. Do the test stitching and its fine. Put the garment back in, and it loops all over again.! grrrrrr
Yesterday DGD had a birthday party to go to, it was in a lovely private school about 20 minutes away. So most of us Mums (Ok so I am granny), stayed there drinking tea and chatting.
BF surprised me as he came here yesterday. Which was good, as it saved me the fuel, and having to cart toys etc over to his. I am quite amazed that he has been so very different about things this time around. (Long may it continue!).
DS had his girl friend over yesterday, so they babysat in the evening and we were able to go to one of the local pubs for a drink, which made a pleasant change then sitting in watching the TV.
The sun is shining here, which looks lovely, but its very cold out there. So I will be staying put. Where its nice and warm. Washing is on of course. But then when isn't it in my household?
Havent heard much from the twins this week, which makes a change. Perhaps they are realising that the bank of Mum is closed.
Although I did end up loaning DS some money for fuel for his motorbike. But its all written down, and he will be paying me back eventually, if not all at once!. But I will be making him do a few more jobs for me to compensate!.
Time for a cuppa I think, and then see if I can sort out a few more things to put up on the car boot to sell. I have far too many clothes!
Take care, MooWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I am in my element today. I finally had earned enough money in my business account to purchase a second hand embroidery machine via eBay.
Of course now I will have to wait on tender hooks until It arrives.
back to work now though. So I can replenish the business.
time for the school run. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
yesterday DS went to the job centre appointment. Was kept waiting over an hour, then told that it would be better if he went to Banbury instead and they re booked for him to go on Wednesday. So he waisted several hours and a tank of petrol for his bike going to Northampton, and he has to go out again Wednesday, so who is going to buy the petrol? Me ! Seriously miffed with them as he wanted to go to Banbury in the first place. Being 10 miles away and not 24!
My Fan belt on the car shredded yesterday. Very lucky for me that it went as I arrived at work, and next door there is a garage who could sort it for me. £20 later and the car was sorted in time to go home.
shopped at Aldi on the way back before I collected DGD.
DS got home just before I went out to get DGD and demolished 4 sausage rolls! Dispite dinner was already in the oven.
Full dinner, roast chicken, potatoes and peas. Then an ice cream.
Would you believe after I'd gone to bed he's eaten 2 mullets, 3 packets of crisps and another sausage roll!!!!! Hollow legs????
today I am due to sew at home. Wedding dress still to do. Just as well, as DGD is unwell. she has a temperature, a cold, and a rash on her chest and back. So no school. Nurofen dosed up, lots of cuddles and keep an eye on that rash!
All clouds have a silver lining. I can potter around and stay in the warm. save fuel as I won't need the car.
I forgot to mention that on Sunday twin1, rang up in a great stress. one of the boys from the family from hell was hanging around her flats and when she went to put her rubbish out she told him and his friends that they were not allowed there , or she would loose her flat( housing already blame her for the kids and have put her on a last warning ). His reply was to threaten her, and to say he was going to petrol bomb her , her twin and even me !
Nice chap! she had called the police before she rang me . I managed to calm her down and say that he was just a silly boy making a noise etc, but she is vulnerable and believed him. The police arrived as we were on the phone. I don't know if anything has happened as I haven't heard anything since. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
She did absolutely the right thing ringing the police not just to make it clear he couldn't threaten her but also so she has official proof that she isn't encouraging them to visit though in case the HA get wind he was hanging around.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
