OH and I had a chat this morning and decided that this Christmas was the best break we'd had in ages. We did very little and feel so much better for it. We also feel better able to face the return to work. Sometimes the MSE option is good for the soul. Today I have decided to start sorting out my books. I really enjoy reading but we don't have enough space for them all. First step is to sort by category as work stuff is mixed with chick lit, a few coffee table type books and some personal development / mind, body, soul type stuff. My aim is to evict a little table currently stacked with books from our bedroom.

Identified 10 books to go. Did a Tt of £3.24. Updated sig. Tcb confirmed cash on its way. Another relatively stress free day for which I am grateful. Identified budget to use on sale purchases for presents later this year. Things appear steady.

The table is still in the bedroom but only has two books on it. Various other bits and pieces also though. Got rid of a broken small electrical, 1 pair of slippers and a pair of shoes with holes in them so quite a productive day by my standards. Also sorted out under the window bookshelves on one side of the bay. It now only contains fiction that I want to keep. Today I am grateful for

I have a huge basket of books at the end of my bed. Now I know that I won't even like some of them but I still hold onto them as I 'might' read them. I need to get a grip :rotfl:

    Hi INOD

I know we bump into each other in all the same threads, but I have never quite managed to sneak into your diary!! I've posted so you are saved in my subscriptions, if you will have me? I will come back and catch up tomorrow hopefully whilst procrastinating instead of meal planning :)

Re: book decluttering... I offered them for sale at 10p each on a group on fb, and a woman came as a few titles she could see in the pic she liked the look of. She ended up taking the entire lot for £20... ahhh that was great! Half a floor to ceiling cupboard emptied!

Lilty you're more than welcome. Re the books I just pass them on to friends who are readers. Today is doom laden. Once OH wakens and gets himself into gear, we are doing the first weigh in of the year on the wii. I can't see it being a pleasant experience but will report back later.

I hate the implied 'welcome back, Fatty McFatFat' messages you get when you start using the wii for the first time in a long spell of over indulgence  :D

    Good luck!
