Love having everything in it's place and a place for everything. Not quite there yet here either, but all the decluttering and tidying I did over Christmas last year has mostly lasted and brings a sense of calm and sheer joy at spending time at home. Mostly unravelled weekly by dogs and DS but soon adjusted again :rotfl:

Definitely always a sale somewhere and something I've learnt is to recycle around the house things like pictures and ornaments to different rooms - gives a fresh and different look and feels like they are new and interesting again. :)

Also taking time to think about if I need something has enabled a more creative look at layouts of rooms and furniture.

If I applied this to what's left in my study from the office move, I would make progress here too :rotfl: It's a job on my to do list!

  • I was having a wee rant today as well about clutter and lack of space in our house. It's only a 2 bedroom house that I made into a 3 bedroomed house and we are full to the rafters. I need to get started and be ruthless as it's starting to get me down. So you can nag me as well :)

  • finally faced the financials. they aren't great but could have been so much worse. I did my last mortgage OP transfer of the year and, having estimated the quarterly ineterest, it looks like I hit my target for this year. based on my not always reliable calculations and exc the unexpected £2k received indirectly from the ex, i did hot the additional 4 payments plus total interest for the year that would have amounted to £3511.52. I calculated that simply making my normal payments less interest charges would have reduced my mortgage by £7491.6o so, while it was close, thanks to generous Christmas presents we did it. thanks to all you peeps for the encouragement en route.
