  • Thanks everyone for popping in. A happy new year to you all. Today, inspired by Beanie Lou I went to the bank, lodged a cheque and some coppers and made a further payment to the mortgage. Sig now updated. I've also been pondering Ali's question and have decided to set a 2 year target that brings the mortgage to 66% of what it was last year. I did the calculations and left them elsewhere. It'll mean paying approx £26.5k which may be a stretch depending on how the interest rates perform. On other news, was challenged by DD to sign up for a couch to 5k type programme but, dammit, it was oversubscribed. I also packed away two lunches into the freezer and will transfer £1 to the mortgage every time I bring lunch in from home. Anyhow, witching hour approaches. Gotta go. Take care.

  • Hope the ny got off to a good start for everyone. Yesterday I also requested £6.16 from tcb. When it hits my account I will transfer to the mortgage. Last night I had the chat with OH re the mortgage payments over the next two years. He kinda agreed, sat quietly and then asked if that included our payments or if it was in addition to them. Poor soul. I had to put him out of his misery! Looks like my lurgy has hit him. The tickley throat and dry cough have started. Still, if he's confined to quarters, he may get on top of ebaying some bits and pieces. Right. It's onwards and upwards.

    Today I am grateful for

  • Well, I just bought a much needed pair of trainers. When my knee was really messed up I lived in one pair and then didn't want to part with them post surgery as I knew I could walk comfortably in them. However, probably for the first time since I was a child, I have worn a pair of trainers until they are actually falling apart. So today I got a pair reduced from £81 to £39 and I'd a £10 loyalty voucher to use so another op to be made. My first this year. I've also requested another £12 that became payable from tcb today. Good news all round.

  • Just posted my 2015 goals on NYD's thread and updated my sig to reflect the mortgage target and the first £10 paid off it. OH requested a cashback due of £50 from the freezer purchase and also £35 he had sitting in his tcb account. Can't wait for this month's mortgage payment to go over. The percentages will start to stack up. Yay.
