  • Well, yesterday evening we went to see a show courtesy of tickets purchased for my birthday in March. Then OH paid for dinner and I bought ice cream for those at home so there was some outlay. Apart from that, ranting at dd and making op of £20.33 to the mortgage, I did virtually nowt yesterday. Still onwards and upwards for today.

  • I don't want to face the world today. There are just too many demands out there sometimes but, in the absence of the lottery win, needs must. Still fingers crossed I get a reasonable finish from my last meeting of the day. It kicks off at three but is 50 miles away. Here's to a good day.

  • Yesterday was weird. It was a case of lots to do in little time that seemed to make me incredibly focused and surprisingly productive. However, sometimes I hate living in ni where there are so many petty bigots. I was listening to news on my drive back to the office and lead story was about children's cardiac surgery to be delivered from dublin. I know it's not ideal but it was identified by a leading medic from Harvard as the best option. While some impacted parents were giving their views, a lot of other comments related to how this was a united Ireland by the back door. It's about trying to get the best outcome for sick children !!!!!!. And it was a decision made by a minister from one of the very pro British parties (well done him). I sometimes wish that people here could get their bigoted heads from their a!sses and see the greater good issue. Sorry, but needed to offload. Here endeth the rant

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Well, talk about a shocker. Got an email feeding back from last week's interview. I've been put through to final interview stage in London with the CEO. I'm now in a total tail spin but to some degree I'm leaving it in the lap of the gods. I won't let my current employer down to attend the interview so the date they offer me will determine whether I go forward with it. Today I am grateful for
    Lottery win
    A successful event today
Someone recognising value in my work.

Ridiculous traffic probs this evening where I spent 45 mins travelling just over a mile. Am back on the road at six tomorrow so an early night is def in order.

  • Well today's meeting moved a deadline forward a month so it's gonna be busy. Took the opportunity to talk to my boss about potential new job while travelling back from dublin. Not an easy conversation but it's done. Took a half day today and had a nap. It's been a tiring week. Today I am grateful for

  • Well yesterday, I finally got around to making the Christmas chutney. I deliberately didn't use the extractor so now the house smells of orange and cloves. Unfortunately I still have loads of ingredients left but no jars. I've no idea how that happened. While I was doing that, my wonderful oh tackled our bedroom that had become a bit of a dumping ground that left me totally overwhelmed and down. It still needs more but I can now see what so can get on with it. The icing on the cake was that we got another £25 on the lottery. In a way that's our annual stake covered and even if we don't end up in the plus, we've helped make people millionaires! I did the weekly weigh in and am down 1lb. Only 7 more to go to hit a level I haven't seen in probably the last ten years. Still nothing back interview wise but I'll be the one posting in a panic when it does come through as I hate interviews and I hate flying. Still it means I will have to the end of jan where I am so will be able to see my full year end figures. Hope things are going well for peeps.
