I have my home back.:j:j:j
While the rellies were no trouble, I'm always relieved to get the house back. You really can't relax when there are others about (I'm not sure what kind of depraved behaviour others will think me guilty of;))
Over the past few days I have spent like there was no mortgage. It will be a poor rest of August for me. I had lots of family round for dinner last night. I now have more alcohol than I had at the start of the evening. What a pity I don't drink.
Today I bought a scratch card hoping that the auspicious day, 08/08 would bring me luck. It didn't. I did however get my first tcb payment become available so that should hit my account in ten days. Another amount to op.
Today I am grateful for
Peace and quiet

pretty much pockled all weekend achieving little and going no where. have just updated my sig to reflect this month's savings (get me!) and this month's mortgage payment plus a TT. did a bit of on line shopping yesterday some of which will go towards the C word. this year I bought so many things when in US and Canada, I'm worried about the potential absence of C shopping from my life this year. We also purchased an iron reduced from £60 to £30 with approx £1 cashback. This allowed us to take advantage of an offer on OH's amex that gives a £25 rebate for 2 £25 min spend at different on line retailers. we do need a new non leaking iron!
plans for this week include my 1st appointment at the hospital diabetic clinic on fri along with the retinopathy check on wed. am a tad nervous re friday but fingers crossed this will all go well.
my car is currently on fumes so will stick £10 in tomorrow en route to Dublin and fill it up when over the border to take advantage of the strong pound. Hope things are going well for everyone. as always, thanks for dropping by.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Good luck with the diabetic appointment and retinopathy appointment. Don't forget you need someone to drive you home from the retinopathy appointment as you won't be able to focus for several hours. Use it as a reason to have a lovely nap afterwards. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

It's ok. I drive to the appt and can visit a friend round the corner if needs be as I can walk to hers. Well did the trip to dublin and back. Got petrol, paid tolls and bought a banana. It was a choice between that or chocolate so while I know it's a high sugar fruit, I thought it the lesser of two evils. Tomorrow is garbage and food waste collection day so tonight I went thru the fridge, shredded some on the turn apples that I will bake with for a charity coffee morning on Friday and am happy to report that with one exception, the only stuff to be dumped is left over sauces. Today I am grateful for

And so the money continues to flow out wards. I'm meeting a friend for a lunch postponed since June so I really need to do this. Then another friend is coming tonight for interview prep and will need to be fed. I knew that this month would be tight but I didn't think at this stage I'd already be hoping for payday. Anyhow, moan over. I need to get a wiggle on. Hope things are good out there.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Lunch went well and cost a fiver. Dinner was kindly prepared by OH for me and my friend. Apart from lunch it was a spend free day and I managed to get something off my desk that has just been hanging around for too long. Also got a holiday gift from my lunch buddy that is both lovely and unexpected. Today I am grateful for
