  • Am feeling much better thanks to you all. I don't understand why I can spiral downwards when things are going ok. I love jaeger sales esp since I generally shop in their outlet. Gotta admit their dresses are sorting me out for work at the minute. It's just too warm for suits. Wonderful news on the apartment satchmo. When do you actually get the keys? Will that be a cause for further celebration? It has been a spendy few days for me but great value has been achieved. I'm normally banned from saying the st nick c word until sept but picked up some bits and pieces yesterday and today that were too good to pass up on. Sinned by way of 8 white chocolate buttons but spent the last hour pre bed breaking up branches etc so I reckon I worked it off. My friend's son is a budding gumtree millionaire so today I offloaded some stuff onto him. He gets a commission on anything he sells, I clear some space plus hopefully get some money too.

    Today I am grateful for
    Contact from a friend
A brilliant deal on the Lego movie
Remembering to leave the dry cleaning in
    Dahlias that have returned.

  • Just remembered satchmo that jaeger does a loyalty card that is quite generous. Hope you got some points. Had an earlyish meeting today and en route back to the office noticed m&s had their two dine in offer on. Used my last green redeem plus multi saves helped by massive roasting chicks to get an opening bill of £44 to £21 plus there will be a £5 op to the mortgage. Will also scan it into receet so a further bonus. Apart from that today was just hot and sticky. Am finally getting on top of a job that has been hanging around like a bad smell. I just want it off my desk so hopefully tomorrow will do that. Had intended to start a dance class this evening but it was too ridiculously warm. Will email and see if we can pick it up from week 2.

    Today I am grateful for
    A colleague helping out
Being able to keep my temper
    A positive meeting
A friendly chat with a client.

Hi inod. Finally caught up with your diary and glad to hear you're feeling better in yourself. If you're still behind on getting the house shipshape for the relatives' visit, there's always the good old flylady crisis cleaning method! Perhaps get OH to alternate rooms with you!

Hi inod, I am enjoying your diary & love your "grateful for" thoughts' I tried it out the other in the dentists chair - " I am grateful for a skilled & friendly dentist" while having a filling replaced! Cheers Bl1
  • Ssg, while my OH has many talents, clearing up isn't one of them. He has this genuine ability to not see things until they are pointed out to him. It's really quite odd. Living room and sitting room need approx half an hour between them but need to be left to last as they both have surfaces that attract clutter. Dining room is a bit of a mess and if I get that sorted, I could shut the door on it bar Hoover and Polish. We are now three weeks waiting for the elusive plumber to change taps etc in the bathroom. Wish he'd hurry as I have a new mirror, curtain poles etc to go up but wanted the work out of the way first. The real problem places are the upstairs rooms. There's just too much stuff!

Hi bl1, good to see you. The gratitude thing is to try to keep my head from disappearing up my orifice. Sometimes I get down so I try to see the good things I can be grateful for and try to appreciate what I have. I should be more consistent and list on the really good days too but it's like clearing the kitchen table (another dumping ground). I know it makes sense to do, it's always on my list but only sometimes gets done

Little Miss Gap has exactly the same [STRIKE]problem[/STRIKE] ability. She doesn't even see the biscuit wrappers that she leaves lying around unless I put them on her seat. I just think that at 13 she should be able to put her own rubbish in the bin so I leave it for her. If I left it where it lands it would be there forever more. Funny though, she does keep her room tidy, her own personal space. She just blanks everywhere else. Sometimes I laugh. Sometimes I laugh in despair.

    Hey INOD,
Really glad that you're feeling a bit better in yourself, and I hope that you got 'the' job out of the way...I've a couple of those sat on the side atm which NEED to be tackled, and I keep finding other things to do. Very good at doing this.
Maybe we should start a support group for those of us with OH's / kids who can't seem to see what's in front of them :) x

  • The odd thing is he's so good where cooking, ironing etc are concerned. He really doesn't see stuff

I'd take that over DS who after requesting a bin for the lounge, decided it was for target practise...and misses every time. So I usually have an empty bin with wrappers around it, which is even more frustrating than just the wrappers. :rotfl: in despair as well!

  • We'll, today was an odd sort of a day. A lot cooler with some rain that I was grateful for. Went for deep tissue massage at nine this morning. Did a top up shop then came home and feel asleep on sofa until OH parcelled me off to bed where I slept through to about half three. I think the dekinking must have relaxed me. Today I am grateful for
    Flowers from oh
    Not settling
Finding the right size of storage
    Getting two areas sorted out
