  • Glad you got through the day without maiming anyone :)

  • Things were still a bit unsettled at work today. Fairly frantic but not too productive. Got a hug from OH at the end of the working day. Visited b&q and managed to get reasonably priced curtains to replace a pair that I made 23 years ago. Plumber was here today and sorted out the bathroom at last. Will need to get curtain pole and mirror up, curtains sorted and some pictures on the walls. Hopefully that will be sorted tomorrow and will make sorting out the dining room easier. We've some relatives arriving on Sunday so am just so relieved that the plumber won't be calling while they are here.

    Hi INOD,
Sorry it's sounding tough atm - hugs from OH's are invaluable!
Hope that things settle down for you - it sounds busy and stressful. Hopefully the relatives visit will be able to be relaxing, although I'm aware that isn't always the case.
Sending positive vibes your way! x

  • Thanks gib. Well we both took today off and got some things sorted around the house. Still a way to go but looking better. I'm shattered and am currently curled up grateful that tomorrow is payday. This month really stemmed to drag. Today I am grateful for
The mirror going up on the bathroom wall
Getting stuff dropped off to charity shop and recycling centre
Finding a bottle of scotch (don't ask)
The uplifting experiences you read about here.

It's nice to be able to spend time at home getting things sorted. I think homes get pushed to the back when you're working.
I like how you have a list of things that you're thankful for. Sometimes the small things mean a lot.

  • The rellies are due tomorrow and all that's outstanding is clean sheets on the bed. Windows washed, curtains changed in bedroom and bathroom, monster size grocery shop done and house generally spruced up. Still haven't won free postcode lottery but there's always tomorrow. Today I am grateful for
