Sorry I've not been around to send support and hugs. Really glad that you've had such a positive hospital visit, and that the results are all looking good xxxDebt remaining:

so, nearly a week since I posted and what has been happening? Confession time first, i purchased a ruinously expensive handbag that I had talked myself out of then saw with a further £100 off. I have worked out that there will be excess to put towards it so while I still feel that I should have paid the money off the mortgage, i can't be sorry. OH told me to consider it my treat for tackling the sugar issue. that means i can't fall off the wagon when carrying it as it may disappear in a puff of smoke.
OH woke up wednesday so unwell that a trip to A&E was needed. Cue horse strength painkillers and antibiotics but happily, today, they are really starting to take effect. He's very good and generally doesn't complain too much but he still suffers like a MAN! this scuppered certain plans for this week and also resulted in me cooking 2 things I'd never cooked before. Still, at our weekly meeting with Mr Wii, neither of us had gained any weight which was good. Last time he was laid up he put on quite a bit due to the inactivity and the need to eat to balance the impact of the drugs.
On the money saving news, I finally achieved my 20 x a certain design of £1 coins so lodged those and transferred it off my mortgage along with a further £10 which was half M&S green redeem and half TT.
I tool advantage of the 20% offer in M&S last weekend and did some replenishing of essentails and have already returned the one unsuitable item.
I also visited a dressmaker with a bundle of clothes. She's a friend of a friend and is so good. Some need bits and bobs of repairs while others need altered. there was also one suit now en route to the charity shop as she told me she could alter it but it would never be right for my shape. this is what I want in a dressmaker. While I don't have a bill yet, the clothes she's working on will mean no need for outlay on work suits over the winter which is a great result. despite no weight loss this week, i'm hoping that the next time I need suits, they will be a size smaller. This week I also took a bag to the charity shop and some stuff to the recycling centre. I love seeing carp disappear!
plans for today include sorting out the handbag shelf in my wardrobe and going through my shoes to see what is wearable with my dodgey knee. no more keeping stuff while living in hope.

Sounds great INOD, well done on the health front. And it sounds like you'd given serious thought to the handbag. Investment purchase maybe

Ladies please, the last thing I need is handbag encouragement. At least this one isn't red. That's my real passion and they are v v good for the soul. Also, since unlike you beanie, I still have shed loads of weight to lose, they are never too small which is a big plus. So today I went to the garden centre. Happily it was having a sale and I got 7 quite large plants for £18. I even got five into the ground pre rain.
Today I'm grateful for

I think your Dear OH is right. Life can't be all sticks, there have to be some carrots tooIf seeing the handbag reminds you how well you have done, and how well you can continue to do, then you have invested your money wisely. Here's to you getting years of use out of it

Handbag sounds like a great investment if it helps you avoid the poisonous sugar.
Glad OH is improving: I hope it isn't contagious? Or was it a man-sized version of what you have just recovered from? What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Sorry to hear about OH - hope he's feeling much better and you're not having to do too much!
I can't really say much about the handbag (not really a 'girl' when it comes to bags and shoes etc e.g. mine is currently falling apart) but you've been through a lot, and deserve a treat no questions asked. Whatever makes you happy you should be able to have every now and againx
