Had my retinopathy examination today and no irregularities detected. Yay. Also, did a shop in m&s and made use of a green redeem £5 off so an op due to the mortgage. Am still trying to do surveys etc but finding it quite soul destroying. Good news with the test INOD.
I only do yougov surveys now as I have very little patience and they were driving me mad. DH decided to do them for a while and signed up for loads in one day. Two days later he was getting rid of them.:rotfl: I did tell him. They can be a simple earner though if you have a little patience.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

After a week of anxiety, disturbed sleep etc. I went to the first diabetic clinic at the hospital. I have never met a nicer group of health care professionals. If there's anyone out there facing this illness and dealing only with their gp, ask for a hospital referral. These people know so much that they make better informed care decisions informed as much by your commitments as by their knowledge of treatment options. That said, while all on the day tests were good, blood results will be on Monday. The consultant suggested I email her for the results to stop me fretting as letters can take too long. It's weird but I feel that I have a team cheering me on rather than an ongoing criticism of bad decisions. Feel totally re energised in this regard. Thanks again to all of you for your support when I was totally low re this. It really helped me get this far. Now it's onwards and upwards.
On the money side, got my first payout from tcb so that along with green redeem and a Tilly tidy meant just over £20 to the mortgage. Must have not updated my sig after last op as I actually had £10 less OS than I thought. Must update that now. Am at that weird point of the month where I have money left but some things I've committed to so am afraid to make ops just in case I end up eating into my emergency reserve. Odd
Not a very productive week at work as my head was elsewhere but it did mean I tackled a few long outstanding jobs and got them cleared on e and for all.
On Friday there was a fundraiser coffee morning and I baked. I did my go to never fail recipe but also another that I'd kinda lost confidence with. Apparently the feedback was amazing. I used to cook and bake a lot more than I do now and, as a consequence, I became less confident of my abilities. I need to get back into the kitchen as I actually enjoy it. Anyhow, enough drivel from me. I had some money to transfer to DS which gave me a £3 Tt to pay to the mortgage. That broke another £100 barrier. Took advantage of a 20% off offer in m&s and did some clothes and pressie shopping. No obvious indulgences just restocking white shirts, black court shoes etc. today I am grateful for

Have you tried http://www.diabetes.co.uk/ website which is full of useful information
Also, try this website which has so much diet and fitness information, including fitness videos - and its all free. There's so much diabetes information, although it can get addictive. Do bear in mind that it's an American site. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/register.asp?from=friend&ReferredBy=11675647
Well done on your progress so far, and I'm so glad for you that the specialist nurses were so positive (they generally are). They are specifically trained in diabetes management.
I'm now officially off the diabetes list, but I'm continuing to eat low carb and try to resist the sweet stuff. Harder to resist is the wine - I liberated some from mum's cupboard yesterday and it's all gone now. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Quickest of quick posts. Got my blood test results. Nightmare reading in May was sitting at 74.9. Now sitting at 54. It could go lower but it's heading the right way.
