I officially hate computers and ineptitude. Yesterday got little done in work as someone had identified a glitch with one of core systems but didn't log it though did offer me their work around!!! I declined and advised of the need for it to be fixed and to reply when this has happened.
Last night I decided to apply for some jobs I'd seen advertised that close today. Would have been straightforward if the system hadn't turfed me out without saving my inputs. Have just submitted in advance of the noon deadline. Not sure I want the job but have decided only to worry about that if I make it through sift, assessment, interviews etc. the process should be done pre my June holiday and if it slips I won't be available for interview. Still gotsta go as work beckons. We get mon & tues instead of fri , mon. Probably some weird NI thing to try to avoid further religious issues! Sometimes I despair. How strange that you have Tues & Wed, do you still call it Easter then or is it a different name? As Rainbow said, we'll all be jealous of you then, hope the weather will be good for you

Well, as a consequence of my early start yesterday combined with putting myself under pressure to apply for jobs, I ended up with an early night due to the headache from hell visiting. Woke up this morning feeling heaps better and am en route to mr t. I'm looking to get the £5 off voucher by spending £20. The £20 will include on offer Haagen daaz ice cream and, if I buy 3 tubs, I can get £3 back from quidco click snap so 2 small mortgage contributions but, as mr t says, every little helps! Plus, last night I funded the trip to chip shop for Good Friday related fish and chips. This included buying for my mum which I'd budgeted for. She did however insist on reimbursing me so that's another saving to be transferred. Right let's get up and at em. Does anyone else remember hill st blues and the final words from each briefing?Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Fish, chips and Haagen Daaz ice cream, a marriage made in heaven, as befits Good Friday! I can't quite work out the maths, but it definitely sounds like spending to save:T:T:T."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250

Sounds like you have had a brilliant Good Friday and at bargain prices. Am I right in thinking you do all your shopping online using a cashback website to get more money back? Still learning some of the systems people have for moneysaving ways....

Hi mags, I don't do any grocery shopping on line. Both top cashback and quidco have a scheme where, if you buy any of their designated items, you photograph your receipt, send it to them and they give you cashback. You need to be quick as the offers change weekly and may be shop specific. I knew I wanted to hit the £20 spend in mr t to get the £5 off the next £40 so I went to those sites first to see where I could get good cashback. The ice cream seemed like an option esp when I checked current tesco offers and found it was a third off. I also scored a voucher for a free malteaser bunny that was mentioned on here. That would have saved me 60p but in store, it was three for two so I got all three for a 60p outlay with clubcard points. I will revisit tesco on Monday and do some proper shopping for the coming week using my £5 voucher. Other people swear by on line shopping as it creates a structure and discipline. Unfortunately that's not really my thing.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hill street blues- be careful out there ?
Sometimes I wish we had a tesco. Rumour is that they are coming as a tesco express but they're nowhere near as big in Scotland as everywhere else.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
