  • Morning hon!

Oops on the pensioner deal however I would just be grateful he looked at you intently. I remember going out with my Grandmother a good few years ago & blagging us in for and under 21 & an over 75 year old and getting us discounts. I was over the moon as I was actually 28 but as my Grandmother was only just 70 she wasn't impressed hehe.

The cookery classes sound great although I agree that you sometimes don't like everything. I'd love to do a bread making class though, hope you find a good one that works well.

Everyone needs a massage now and again to relieve the stress & stop us from making impulsive buys that would end up costing us more. You're investing in your saving future. Not sure that's correct MSE thinking but it's my thinking so enjoy it :)

"Spend to save" and "investing in our saving future".... you two are incorrigible, but I think you are right!!

By making the journey enjoyable and taking extremely good care of that very important "earning asset" .. ourselves, why wouldn't we stick around for the duration.

We just have to prove that it works ..... then the crowds will follow.

  • It's a proven fact that if you put yourself on a strict diet to loose weight you will inevitably get moody & frustrated and binge eat. Surely the same applies with spending?! The odd donut or biscuit is just the same as the odd massage :) x

  • So the dreaded b day has arrived. This tends to hit me the way NYE affects others. You know that what have I achieved in the last year negative thinking so to try to arrest the downward spiral, am gonna try for some positives.

I got my knee sorted (grateful for private health care), though it's still mending
    I acquired 4 new clients
I fought for and gained promotion to director (flip side is that our md feels he lost the fight and hasn't forgiven me for that)
I established a better working relationship with one of my team, we previously locked horns too easily.
I started to op on my mortgage
I made some inroads on sugar control and weight loss. It must be said though that the run up to birthday caused me to impersonate pacman.
I'm still with my lovely OH:T
I joined the firm's pension scheme at a cost of £108 to me for a 360
    Total contribution each month

Yesterday, I noticed that the money for closing an old joint account has transferred to our current account. Mortgage interest is due to be added next Monday and shouldn't be that much more than this. While it was earmarked for the savings, am seriously thinking that it'd be so so good to have hit my target of a fourth payment every three months plus to pay the interest.

And, bum bum bum. OH just walked in with a parcel for me that had arrived Monday but that he'd squirrelled away for fear it was birthday related. We just opened it and I've won a presentation case and bottle of decent 15 year old single malt. Def one for the present box!

Anyhow, may return after another work day from hell but obviously the other achievement over the past year is

By creating this diary and delurking I've found a great bunch of people with whom I can share the carp and the highs. For this I am truly grateful

I think your list is very positive and you should be uber made up to have achieved so much, think how much more you'll achieve this year with positivity and us lot to cheer you on!

Well done on winning the malt although I think if you manage to put it away for a present you have the will power of a saint!

Have a fantabulous day & let yourself be spoilt, you deserve it :) xx
