Love those sorts of accomplishments, the sense of liberation is fantastic :D

Hope life is becoming a bit calmer & you're feeling better. I'm a big believer in getting some distance and looking after yourself that little bit more when people start encroaching with their nonsense. xx

  • Thanks pm. Part of me wants to say it's only money but it was that thinking that got me into my original financial mess. Also, if I don't make a stand, it'll bring back all the worthlessness issues so decision is to invest in legal advice and take it from there. At least I have a solicitor who I trust and who doesn't charge the earth.

Anyhow, despite being in ni, I'm in work today so better get a wiggle on. Happy thoughts to all of you.

  • My goodness, I go away for a few days and all hell breaks loose!! Memo to self: don't do that again! lol

Seriously though, I'm so glad you have found the perspective and hope that everything works out. Sometimes I think you have to have the sh*tfit before you can have the perspective or the perspective isn't as clear - much like that sentence but I think you get what I mean!

Hope this week goes better for you :) x

Hi INOD - perspective is good and at least you are not with your ex anymore:). I hope it all works out for you and the solicitor has good news.
  • Thanks all. The support here is great. Work today, got 2 more things off the to do list and a lovely lunch with a friend. May have ducked a one off bill today but won't know until tomorrow. If that works out, it'll be on overpayment to the mortgage. Bay of E stuff to be listed by oh by tomorrow. Just need to tread that careful line between reminding and nagging.

  • Things to be grateful for today

    A nice boss
A lovely OH who, on his day off, made dinner and unprompted is currently listing the ebay items
    Sunshine
Some inroads to the work mountain.

  • Hey INOD - sounds like you are really going through the mill. Sorry that I have no wise words that can immediately make the situation better for you.

I do agree with RainbowBrigeReturns, regarding your OH's assessment of the children. I think they probably 'get' more than you know.......

I seem to think (forgive me if incorrectly) that your children are perhaps young adults? Perhaps now is the time to have an age appropriate chat with them, without emotion, sticking to the facts as you see them. As you have never disrespected their father to them, this will not be a disrespectful act.

You are seeking their understanding of the situation and of the fact that unresolved issues have a habit of 'rumbling on' (polite version).

You are not priming them to support you against their Dad. They will understand that.

I hope you find resolution. And that your legal advocate reassures you.

Has the lost medication been found - or did you get replacements?

    Have a good day.

  • Thanks RBR and Greying for good advice as always. My 2 are slightly more than young adults both being in their late 20s but you don't really see your own as having grown up do you? Especially as, when they get together, they revert to ages 5 and 6! We didn't find the pills but got replacements so that's something.

Well the good news is, three out of five items listed and the first bid in. If all sell, we may get around £15 to £20 plus postage but it will be five fewer things in the house. Fingers crossed. Anyhow got to get to work. Long day today as my final meeting is at seven approx 25 miles from home. Dinner is some premade and frozen sauce with pasta. Lovely.

  • Well I've finally managed to get a day off but have lots to do. Need to visit GP to sort out re pills, contact dentist, confirm cookery class for Monday, chase up some work info and call the solicitor. I tried yesterday but he was busy and didn't want him to call back when I was at my desk. Also, my house is chaotic so needs some tlc. Will also volunteer to do school run with my sis
