Hi INOD,
Love 'the things I am grateful for' on your posts - definitely something we all forget. You are doing brilliantly and I know what you mean about how well others seem to be doing about paying off debts when we are just not adding to what we have.... That is just as good and definitely a step forward.
Have a great weekend. xE.F. #38 240.55/1000 SPC8 #375

Ok, so here goes.
let's deal with the negativity first. I had totally disregarded that in addition to the monstrous deposit for our september holiday having to be paid on the credit card bill, i had further one off outlay of £450. To avoid not being able to pay in full, i had been setting aside any excess funds in February to count towards this. As a result, we shall break even in March but I was whinging cos the mortgage wasn't reducing and the savings pot wasn't increasing. Sometimes I think our fairly fixed income has elastic on it! also, I don't have any sainsbo vouchers at present so can't justify OPs.
Folks, when I'm being a whingebucket - can someone please shout and tell me to remove my head from a particular orafice
However, let's consiedr last week. Sunday, OH & I went to Jaegar outlet as they had a spend £150 and get £50 off for loyalty card holders. This added to the £30 loyalty vouchers resulted in a dress for work and a jumper for me, a casual shirt for OH and a pair of cropped trousers for DD. Outlet prices meant bill came in at £182 (less than original dress price) but cost me £102. V happy with this. It may not be stuff we need immediately but it is stuff that will be needed.
Don't think I managed any NSDs last week but am broadly content that there wasn't waste bar some cheese that went mouldy while within date. I did one TT to the mortgage account which means that I have achieved 67.5% of my mortgage OP target for this quarter. Other MSE things inc filling the car when in RoI, getting a discount on a meal for 4 Monday lunchtime, combining destinations to reduce travel and doing a bulk shop in Makro for laundry supplies, toilet rolls, etc. Also updated the "goals for 2014" thread. I also negotiated a better service from virgin saving £8.;50 per month. This has an initial outlay of £25 but 3 months and i will be saving
Did a list that grew to 17 things yesterday. think I've achieved about 10 with one more a work in progress but, as flylady says "even housework done imperfectly, blesses your family"
Things I am grateful for
- using points to book flights to family wedding in June
- starting to get on top of things in work after part time working while recuperating
- starting to see that my dining room may, some day soon, be reclaimable
- help via a PM here
- realising that volunteering does not have to mean a charity. it's just the donation of my time and skills to someone who can benefit (I was previously beating myself up about what I could do in a more formal way)Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Morning INOD
Wow, I've been so busy this last week that I've not been on here as much and feel I've missed sooooo much!
With regards to your negativity, you just need to take you head out of your ar.... oh, you dealt with that! lol
Your clothes deals are fantastic. I'm a great believer in spending on things you need when they're on offer rather than when you really need them as you'll probably spend less. How many times have we overspent on an outfit because we're going out that night and have to have it!?
Not much else to say as everyone else has said it but keep going, you're doing fab, your list is going down, as is your mortgage so keep your head up, your shoulders back and, oh stuff it. Have a cuppa and feel smug that you're doing so well! xxCC1: 10273.70/6892.56. CC2: 1000/832

Well, since Sunday we finally got our flights to toronto booked. One was fully paid for by avios points and the other earned them. We got our NYC hotel booked for 4 nights at a cost of 1 due to hotel points and we get a free upgrade. We also transferred our tesco points to avios and these will cover return flights from Toronto to NYC. Yesterday was a dublin trip so got cheap diesel. All other spends to be reclaimed. Did a shop yesterday in sainsbugs but as I had no vouchers, I paid for this with nectar points. That gave me and oh lunch today from whoopsied items along with some stores for the house. Today is NSD and I'm very grateful for thatMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
