  • So progress today. Sorted out cookery class for Saturday, no idea why I said Monday earlier. This is paid for by gift vouchers from my boss at Christmas and best bit is I still have enough left for another session.

Got a cancellation at the dentist and repair work was free so another yay

Went to gp. Sorted out the missing pill issue. Also, had a review and we're going to try reducing the nine pills with breakfast to eight. Still a ridiculous number but at least going in the right direction.

Got some advice from the solicitor so have a way forward re ex

Also finally got around to closing a bank account. So, there's £150 heading towards the current account just in time for the new tax year.

And now for the bad news. Had a wander round a few discount shops and spent money. Got some seed packets at 2 for a pound. Also picked up some dahlia bulbs - I love dahlias. Also got a climbing rose and another shrub plus some housey bits and pieces. Followed this with a trip to asda and gave myself a £20 budget. Came in at just under £17.

    Today I am grateful for
    Support from colleagues
    Dentist appt
    Having a good GP

  • "The fragrance always remains in the hand that gives the rose".

That was an investment in the future, it will likely outlive all of us and give years of pleasure. Last week I was helping auntie pick roses for a little memorial garden she has planted in her back garden and I was really touched by the beautiful names that they have.

  • Evening

I too love dahlias. I grew these at school & gave them to my dear Grandad who loved them so much he moved them with him when they moved. He's long since left this world but I still see his dahlias (I live next door to his old house) and they always remind me of him.

I'm hoping to grow some veggies this year but I may now be tempted to buy some dahlias too. Never feel bad for buying things that will last long for next to nothing pence. You've worked hard to get where you are so you enjoy them. Have a good evening x

  • Oh, meant to say sassy I picked up two packets of mixed lettuce seeds in pound stretcher for £1. Oh still opting for salads for lunch most days so here's hoping I will get more than a salad bag's worth out of them. If I do, it's a saving. Yay for Friday. Am totally wiped out this week and have the prospect of a drive to dublin and a contentious meeting on Monday so will need to prep for that today. Fingers crossed for some good weather. Would really like to get out to the garden this weekend. Mortgage payment goes out today and that should create a Tilly tidy. Not much ebay activity and only way to hit mortgage op target is to probably dip into living expenses but I feel that I can't miss the first target.

  • Morning INOD

The seeds offer sounds good. I think Pound Stretcher is the only cheaper store that I'm not sure where our local one is. I'll have to take a look.

I can understand why you're after hitting your first target, it's like a bug isn't it? So long as your living expenses can take a hit then why not? I think so long as you're not left short on day to day essentials it's ok to do so.

Hope you have a good day!

  • So my cookery class starts at ten thirty and I'm still at hiding under the covers stage. What if no one likes me, what if I'm carp, what if I don't do things right, what if my knee doesn't hold up. It used to be cooking and baking was a major destresser. Not anymore esp since oh likes to cook dinners and is a good cook so it's more of a challenge for me than it was when I was putting out meals every day. Really got to get my !!! into gear as otherwise I can add what if I'm late to the list of what ifs. Tummy already feels like it's in free fall.
