Well the birthday has been and gone. Got some lovely pressies inc six new books, 2 CDs, flowers, handbag, tickets, etc. also was given a tea towel by a relative. While we would only exchange tokens, this one has me stumped. I know that due to year end, standards do slip in this house in March but really? Have had my massage, paid for with birthday money so booked one for next month with the money I had set aside for this one. I always feel heaps better afterwards. So plan for this weekend is to have a not too busy day today, we're out for dinner this evening and to tame the freezer and cook tomorrow.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Happy belated birthday, INOD! :bdaycake:
Loved your review of the year, you achieved so many wonderful things, well done you! :T
The pressies sound faba penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. Even the tea towel PM? Well, in my desire to be mortgage free, I transferred the ops yesterday to hit my quarter 1 target of an extra monthly payment each quarter. I then decided that I didn't want to see it go back up when interest hits on 31 March so I transferred that too and for good measure made a small Tilly tidy. I then checked my payslip and realised that I hadn't factored in that joining the pension scheme may result in less pay  looks like it will be a fairly frugal month thanks to the muppet moment.
Well yesterday I achieved all I set out to do - I had a fairly lazy day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Maybe that's the secret of success, just create low expectations! Today however, having just finished breakfast in bed, I have lots to get done ranging from a trip to ikea to get a missing fitting to cooking and baking. Will report back as hopefully the need to come clean about activity or lack thereof may propel me forwardsMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I've just worked out that 22% of this mortgage went on debt consolidation. Therefore I need to make op of £26285 before I actually tackle my mortgage. The tea towel made me laugh! Our car was bought out of our offset mortgage and I never considered that we were going in to debt to fund it! We are both proper debt free wannabees now!! I just did my first tilly tidy today and I really enjoyed it too....."I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me". £9/£250

Got to be in the office early today. A meeting with a stupid client that will totally hit the budget and will achieve nothing but sometimes, that's just the game. Anyhow, tomorrow is April 1st. Morning!
Sounds like you had a nice and lazy weekend, just what we all need from time to time. I too like all your pressies but would be a bit confused as to the tea towel - still, at least they thought of you!
Have a great dayx

Happy belated birthday IND!!!
Loving the tea towel. One year for Xmas from my brother and sis in law I got some toiletries consisting of a shower gel with 'for men' writen on it, shampoo with no matching conditioner, dental floss and some sanitary hand gel. Nice!!
They are loaded so couldn't even pass it all off as 'they're skint, thought that counts' etc.
