Well, depending on what the trees are, dead is better than alive near the house/ in the garden. I am always pulling up ash trees, or if they hide too well digging them out.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

The trees are against the fence in back garden.
A whole row of them.
Killed by the snow a few years ago.
The ones down the other side of garden are ok.
Conifers. Which are evil anyway.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. One of the reasons we have had to raid the savings was to get the side of the house re paved after we finally persuaded our next door neighbours to remove the trees whose roots were lifting our flags. So sometimes dead trees are the better option. Today OH took in and removed some stuff from what is supposed to be our spare room but is, in reality, his man cave. I've no idea what has come over him but long may it last.
Today I read an article on depression that resonated. Someone was saying about how they thought that by their mid forties, they would have their life sorted. I suppose that's how I feel to some degree. When I was younger, I thought people this age had all their ducks in a row while I'm still not sure that I want to have ducks!
Today has been an NSD though yesterday I treated us to sausage and chips from the chippy, an outlay of less than £5. We were both sorting stuff out and I just decided to make life a bit easier for us. OH did our gas reading and submitted for the bill. To stay within budget, I'm hoping it will be £141 or less. OH's rough calculation said it'd be below £150. I can cope with the cash reserve going less than £10 under but would sooner it didn't. This of course also requires me to live on £60 until payday.
Tomorrow I'm going back to work but will bring a packed lunch as it'll save me money plus it'll reduce the risk of me not being able to make it to the sandwich shop and back.
Today I am grateful for
Making small improvements around the house
Finding a different way to do things that moves them forward

Morning INOD
I've got that back to work feeling this morning and I'm sure that my offices will still be fairly empty - I wished I'd booked Thurs & Friday on leave.
I know the 40 feeling - I'm much the same as I thought 40 was old (when I was in my teens & twenties) and we would have it all sorted by then. A bit of a shock to the system to realise that we don't and we are still a work in progress. Have fun today:)0 -
Yesterday was a NSD but not by choice. Went shopping for a 30th birthday card for dd, couldn't find a suitable one. Was led astray by a friend for a coffee mid afternoon but she paid and it was so quiet work wise that I went. DS called and confessed that he'd had his motorbike stolen on Friday evening and that due to a high excess, depreciation, etc he would be unlikely to get back more than £400 from the insurance so he's thinking of not claiming to protect a year's nCb. I'm so annoyed for him and in true parent fashion, want to help fix it.
Yesterday I also set a date for the first meeting of my book club. I've been talking about it for months so grasped the bull by the horns and opted for first wed in August. Am trying to stay calm about having people round.
Today I'm back in work. First time in an age that it's been two days in a row. I also need to get diesel but have held off until today as it's the first day of a new credit card statement.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
