Yesterday was ok, things are heading in the right direction with regard to getting work cleared. Yesterday evening, I managed some weeding and got four plants into the ground. It then rained all last night so I'm hoping that'll help them settle in. Today I am grateful for

A thoroughly indulgent day has been spent with a new home having been identified for one small item but it's one that will never reappear so that's a plus. Nephew came round today and did some gardening but disappeared without getting paid. Need to see what I owe him which may take me into my reserve but a week from payday, that's tolerable. It won't be by much.
Dinner tonight was chicken served with sweet potato fries that we cooked from a frozen packet for the first time. They were good and I can see the purchase being repeated esp as the shop I bought them in gave me £5 off my next £25 and my laundry liquid is currently half price there at present. There will definitely be a return visit next week as two detergents and the fries will notch up £15 and we always need fresh salad stuffs.

Oooh, INOD - you've answered a question for meI get frozen oven chips in h3ron F00ds (don't know if you have them in your neck 'o the woods), and they are a 'no-brand' iyswim, and alongside them very often, in the freezer are sweet potato fries. I've put off trying them, as they are a little more expensive for less chips. But I'm inspired to try them now
Thanks!
I've been reading along with your diary - lurking if you will - nodding, sometimes despondently, at the trials and tribulations you face. I'm going through similar - although the scenarios are completely different, the emotions that they stir up in me and DH are pretty similar to those that you talk about. I don't have any solutions - wish I did, because they would sort me out too
I was looking up recipes in some of my old notebooks the other day, and came across a poem by Jose N. Harris - which I know that I have written out on one of my threads before (click on his name, I've linked to a version of it on the web - 'There comes a time in life...'). I thought it relevant to me when I found it for the first time. When I stumbled on it the other day, I read it again and though....... yes, yes indeed.
Keep going, keep going, keep going*. It's all we can do.

Falling down ( on so many levels) is indeed part of life as indeed is getting up. But sometimes enough is enough. I cut someone out of my life earlier in the year & after the angst & the many ripples it caused ( & still does to an extent ) feel so much better for it.

Isn't it odd how many of us with totally diverse scenarios are dealing with similar issues. Thanks for the link Greying, it resonated with me. Btw, did you midwife also tell you that it'd be grand?
OH and brothers finally got their finger out and sorted out a gift for the parentals today. One less thing to fret about. Very little work was done here today but I did remember to transfer dd's birthday money to her account for tomorrow. Not sure how I have two children in their 30s while I still feel, in spirit, that I'm still in my 20s. Also took a chance and made a TT of just over £5 to the mortgage. Hopefully by September with weddings, birthdays and anniversaries gone we will establish financial plans going forward.
Anyhow, despite having done little, I'm shattered so am heading to bed.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
