Got through yesterday at work. One matter had a successful resolution which is great. And the first two elements of my planning for the weekend were successfully achieved. Stage one was a top up shop making use of my £5 off a £25 spend. Bill was £22.50 as there was a last minute addition of a store cupboard item that was on offer.
Stage two was a visit to the chippy to purchase tea for mum and me which I ate at hers.
Stage three was return home, close the door and hopefully keep it closed until Monday.
There just seems to have been too little time for the two of us at home recently.
I had owed DS a birthday present since July, but wouldn't just give him the money in case it evaporated, I wanted to buy the necessary item. Due to the potential need for a return, we agreed he would buy it so, yesterday morning, I transferred the required amount. Cue frantic ignored calls from me yesterday as I was afraid he'd head for a post work pint, think he had more money in his account than expected and have a bit of a splurge! I finally got him at 4.30 when he'd been a good boy and gone home. My mother, who thinks he's en route to sainthood, thought this was hilarious!
Today seems like an ok day so laundry may actually dry outside. Fingers crossed and will get that underway shortly. Hope everyone has as productive a weekend as they'd like.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Stage three was fully achieved except for opening the door to the man delivering our takeaway. OH paid so things are ok. Had phone contact with 2 sisters and eventually 1 son. Also realised that there will never be a right time to restart the mortgage ops so it's starting now. I owe £10 courtesy of money off vouchers. I could also make a case for the £20 I carried forward from last week from my spends but I'm not secure enough to do that yet.
I got some housey stuff that has been bothering me for some time finally sorted which was good and by staying at home, deferred filling up the car which is running on its reserves.
Anyhow, today was supposed to be a day in dublin which I managed to avoid so I really need to make it count work wise. OH has just emerged from the shower so that's my cue to start getting myself sorted. Hope everyone's week gets off to an amazing start.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks beanie. Yesterday was a bit of an odd day. Had to have blood tests and encountered an elderly lady nervous about the lift who then told me she'd been given a terminal diagnosis. Really didn't know what to do bar checking that she had someone waiting for her. Just felt so useless esp as she was so grateful for me helping her with the lift. Then visited my brother in law who told me his mum is in hospital, fading fast and not expected to be discharged. He's still grieving for my sister, caring for his disabled son and now this. It's hard to be positive when there's so much pain about. Anyhow, there's stuff to be done today so I better get a wiggle on instead of indulging in a pity party. I'm not working tomorrow so need to get lots done today.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hardly a pity party.
Reflection on how much one person can deal with in a short period of time.

Thanks beanie, hope that's not an indication of you struggling to keep plodding. Today is my non working day but I'm going in for an hour or so as I'm out at clients Thursday, Friday and Monday so would like to get the prep for that done. Also, have a hospital check up on Thursday so like to get the time made up in advance for that. Went to m&s yesterday, picked up some multi buys, got whoopsied potato bread (theirs is yum), discounted roll courtesy of my sparks offer and £5 off a spend this week. Isn't it ironic that when I've a weekend away for the wedding blessing I get not one but two grocery vouchers when normally there are none to be had.
Last night I took such a craving for a particular brand and flavour of ice cream. It haunted me for about two hours. I'm so grateful that I didn't give in. I've ingested more than enough sugar recently so making a stand against one thing really gave me a boost. Isn't it odd the things we can be grateful for?Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Nope. It is fantastic that you recognised it for what it was and refused to give in. Bravo INODKeep going

Ended up doing three hours in work yesterday but it was worth it as things got done. Turns out client doesn't need me til ten so I will go back to office this morning as it's only a ten minute walk away. Will jump a cab from there to get to hospital as parking is horrendous so it'll be quicker. This evening will be a bit manic as I've stacks to do to get on the road by six tomorrow for a day's work after a four hour drive followed by niece's wedding or blessing weekend. Lots going on and yet all I want to do is stay in bed.
Yesterday used the m&s voucher and with reductions and offers got the core parts of a number of meals. I also made a mortgage op of £20 representing three vouchers, a sparks offer and a TT. I also picked up the components of lunch today so need to go get that assembled.
As always, thanks for the interest and the support. It really helps.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Well, what a weekend that was. OH,who is English, described it as the missing episode from fr ted. Quirky would be an understatement but the bride and groom are now legally married and returned to canada and we are ridiculously poor. Extra expenses include having to pay cash for accommodation after we refused to stay in the hotel originally booked due to a non flushing toilet and various other issues. I'm just trying to live on what's in my purse and to make it to payday next week.
On a majorly plus note, we have confirmation of our mortgage reduction of £80 a month. Our interest rate is now 0.41%. I can remember being so pleased to get a 12.9% rate as a first time buyer!
Stopped off in aldi on Sunday on way back from the wedding. Wonder if we will ever get them in the north now that brexit looms. Yesterday was a dublin morning with home prepared lunch eaten on way back up the road. I've just been told that today's baps have started to go blue mould. Not good. Anyhow, need to get a wiggle on. Hope things are good.
Today I am grateful for
Family, they may be !!!!!y and disfunctional but they are there
