Another Monday, they do come round quickly here. It's wet, grey and miserable looking but a lot cooler which works for me. Payday this week and, so far, I can report making it through by the skin of my teeth. Lots to do in work this week and I have to work Wednesday morning with a ridiculously early start as my first meeting is in dublin at 8.30. Fingers crossed the boss will drive! No lunch made today but I have a cunning plan to stop off en route to the office as a place near home will supply lunch for a lot less than one in town.
Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Well I tackled some of the work issues with the sr partner yesterday. He sees a progression for me over the next four years. We were also talking about issues in general in the office. He was totally gobsmacked and delighted when I offered to up my hours (bye bye Wednesday mornings) to take over managing these. I think it should be temporary until Christmas and then we can review. I now am able to kondo the garbage from our office. Unfortunately this won't apply to staff but fingers crossed. I will also up my salary by 11% which is good for this year. I get so frustrated about things either not being done or being done badly. I reckon I'll expend less energy and emotion just by getting on and doing it myself. Spoke to my right hand man last night and he's right behind me.
I had a disturbed night last night. I kept waking up brimming over with ideas to make positive changes. I just feel so much more energised. I know that I will hit brick walls from the 20 year brigade but so long as I can get in a few quick wins, I can build momentum.
Also, I made it through to the month end with all bills paid on my shoe string budget. It can be done. I have £9 in my purse which should cover lunch and incidentals until Thursday. If needs be, I can also raid the pound and twenty p pots which should generate another £15 or so. Today starts the planning. Wow, what a result, INOD, you get to make some much-needed changes and earn more money at the same time. Well done for grabbing the bull by the horns, hope it all works out beautifully.
It must feel nice to be making some real progress.

Tuesday evening I went to see my mother, that went reasonably well as I was there just in advance of soap time so could make a relatively quick escape to enable her to watch her programmes. Wednesday was my ridiculously early start in dublin but the meeting went well. Afternoon was at the counsellor, calling with a friend to finalise the first book club meeting next wed and then some shopping to take advantage of my £5 off a £25 spend combined with my usual laundry liquid being on half price. The voucher was valid for longer but I wanted to get two of the laundry liquids and I didn't know when the offer would finish. I was able to pick up three of my mum's favs whoopsied to 17p each and got another £5 off £25 spend valid for 10 days. This will be used on offers and to rebuild storecupboard supplies that we let run down while dd was away. It's not a very exciting shop but does use local suppliers which is a plus.
I dropped the items into mum's on a flying visit and kondoed an item to my sister's house. Today I need to do my budget for the coming month as I need to withdraw some savings. I really resent doing that despite having made non routine purchases. Isn't it weird how someone who 10 years ago regularly paid £300 a month in cc interest can change to such an extent!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. This morning while enjoying a pity party I typed up a major rant and lost it while trying to post. Since then however I got various odds and ends done inc my budget and a trip to the building so for a withdrawal that I then lodged to the bank. I also got a cheque lodged for dd, had a call with DS sorted out some stuff in the bedroom and found the book I need for next Wednesday's book club.
We have this anniversary thing next week and OH's father is insisting he makes a toast / speech. I'm dreading the whole day and this is the icing on the cake. He's gonna have to stand in front of the extended family and talk about the wonders of a long lasting marriage while we both know how they all feel about our living arrangements. I will feel totally adrift. Then two weeks later I have my niece's wedding with all the attendant family politics. The weekend in between I intend to bunker down with OH and ignore the world.
Today I am grateful for

At the end of the day though it is not how they feel about the living arrangements but how YOU feel. If they don't like it, then it is their problem and not yours.
