  • So, did my meeting, it took longer than expected. Headed home for a rest pre office and discovered that I'd locked myself out! So, more time was spent in the office than expected. Was absolutely shattered and then went to counselling session. Few more things being slowly unwrapped. It's weird how a question or two can provide a whole new perspective.

  • Today oh has taken time off just for us to spend together and I'm grateful for that. Had a most disturbed night with freaky dreams etc. note to self, do not watch Louis Theroux documentaries before bed.
Have just added another expense to this month's spends. DD is getting an award from the charity she works for every summer in the us. I wouldn't be cleared to fly as it falls within my compression stocking period so I'm gonna fund DS's flights as his birthday present. It's more than I would normally spend but it'd be good for her to have family there plus it means he can also be there for her 30th which is 4 days later. It's just about £300 more than expected but I can claw £40 back from a saving on parcel post to her.
Another month of dipping into savings and no OP to the mortgage. Having said that, it's great that she is being recognised.
Leg continues to heal with marked reduction in bruising. It is however so itch as the wounds heal. I think I'm picking holes in my skin everywhere else in an attempt not to scratch my leg.
Btw, made it to the month end with money in my purse. This is most probably from there being a restricted birthday present for my mum.
Oddly enough, she seemed happier with it than a carefully planned more expensive option. Maybe that's today's lesson for me!

  • Had a lazy day yesterday and today we went grocery shopping. OH continues with the Atkins plan and continues to lose weight steadily. However, few carbs and lots of protein costs. I also dropped two small bags of stuff to charity shop, got a prescription filled and dropped a broken CD player to the dump. Work continues on the dining room. I've realised, and hopefully Beanie might read this, it's not all about getting everything completed, it's about making progress. We have also identified some games to be kondoed along with two wooden cats. The no longer scented pot pourri has already gone to the bin. One item of furniture is now approx two thirds cleared before it is kondoed. Can't wait. I may need a rethink of where some pictures hang but it's getting there.
Had another night of weird dreams last night. I was crying when I woke which totally unnerved me. Fingers crossed for a good night's sleep tonight

I'm low carbing and high protein. It's definitely harder on a budget.
Sounds like good progress on the dining room.
    Glad you are healing.

I know what you are saying.
What I do is not much really.
It seems more than it is really.

  • Got the piece of furniture cleared completely. Also did my calculations for this month. Provided my quarterly gas bill is below £140(quite unlikely), and that I live on the £80 I have in my purse, I can get by to the end of the month. Nightmare or what?
Talked to DS today. Apart from over enthusiastic celebrations of canada day on Friday, things appear to be going well.
Identified a few more things for charity shop along with an ebay possibility or two. Also, caught up with a friend by phone which was good.
I have also concluded that I need to improve my list making as I seem to spend more time doing things that never made it to the list. Anyhow, hope everyone had a good weekend. Take care.

  • One day closer to payday and an NSD. My sister came up this morning with wee ones she child minds. She left with various bit and pieces so the clear out continues. We also moved furniture to where it was needed in the dining room. It now just needs oh to connect some electricals and that's it broadly fit for purpose until we can afford to decorate. Am heading into the office for a few hours tomorrow as we have a tender going in at one. Tried to do a full day up and about today but didn't feel great by four, sat down for a few mins and woke up at ten past six. Also, have completely reached the end of the line with an online shop. They delivered the wrong order six weeks late and then advised it would be picked up between eight and eight today but didn't show. Also, even though they confirmed that they sent the wrong thing, they won't refund until up to two weeks after the item is received back to their warehouse. Obviously they aren't incentivised to do a pick up. Also, they state that they can't provide a name for a senior person with responsibility for complaints. Eeek!
Anyhow, must calm down or I will never get to sleep.
On another note, I noticed that my most recent prescription for anti depressants was half the strength of what I was on previously. I called my gp to find out if this was deliberate or a mistake. It was a mistake but he's happy that I try the reduced level. Fingers crossed this will be the start of me getting off them.
