So, let's start by working backwards. Surgery went amazingly well. Haven't had a single painkiller since then despite being handed a bundle of drugs and being warned of the dangers of overdosing. Only downside is that I have to wear a white surgical stocking on one leg for five weeks.
For some bizarre nhs reason, I was treated outside of my normal health trust. The standard of service was so amazingly good in every way that I will be putting actual pen to paper to write to the CEO. I did work for him a few years back and I hope he remembers that I can be hyper critical so will realise how good his team must have been.
Just remembered the second downside, I have to inject my stomach every day for a week. If ever there was a reason to get sugars under control, that's it. I just get on and do it but feel decidedly queasy for about half an hour afterwards.
On the money side, I'd purchased an item for a friend who I don't see very often. I knew she would pay but I wasn't expecting it until November or thereabouts. Turns out she's in town this weekend so £200 is coming my way. OH is in a tizzy cos she'll be calling whereas I've worked out simple pot luck food from the freezer and don't think the house is too bad.
I've been dipping in and out of threads while stuck here. I see I'm not the only one realising that life's too short to always be focused on the tomorrow. My heart goes out to Jo cox's children. I know she was a public person who did good work but two kids no longer have a mummy.
As per usual, the seize the moment thought may not last for me or for many others but isn't it anything we get done to make things better a great tribute to this lady.
Anyhow, enough of that, next update will follow soon.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Some lovely news there. I'm glad the op went well and you were looked after so brilliantly. Do you think you'll enjoy the resting or are you bored already?
And £200 is always nice! My FIL just gifted us £200 from a payout he got and it was so much fun being able to spend it on nice things!Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Thanks for popping in folks. Not sure how long I'll be at home. Have a dr appt on Tuesday so will probably discuss it then. Ideally I'd like another week to allow for the massive amount of bruising to heal. Just don't like the risk of being around others where I could bump, etc.
Yesterday's dinner went really really well. It was my ex sister in law and her dd. OH cooked a meat and two veg dinner with the bulk of supplies coming from stores and the freezer, they supplied dessert and the whole evening trundled along well where it could have been awkward. Got money so am solvent again. Yay. Hate having to dip into emergency funds. Also, offloaded a Brian toy that came free with my insurance for her grandchildren. It could have gone on ebay but they sell for less than £4 and I know she likes to keep a toy store for when her extended family call.
I also gave her daughter a tablecloth that she admired some 15 years ago and has, at most, been used once since then so things are trickling out of the house.
Week before last, OH listed a suit and an unworn pair of trousers on the bay for me. Both sold so another £15 coming my way. Amazing what lack of funds can inspire you to do.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Today I wombled £1 from under a set of drawers. I also got OH to drive me to a deserted carpark where I checked that I could do emergency stops. This is such a relief. While the surgery appeared to have gone well, I wasn't allowed to drive until I could stop quickly. Lack of ability to drive would seriously impact my ability to do my job so while I knew everything should be ok, I never quite trust it until it's tried and tested. Hope everyone had an equally successful day.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
