  • Doesn't time fly. It's been an odd sort of a day. Gathered up a box of stuff, some shoes, some clothes, some stuff that will be donated on Wednesday. Even got two items from OH. Plans to claim my dining room and turn it into a dining room !!! study for me are in motion. I've identified the desk I want and the shop told me to expect 20% off next month so no purchase as yet but they will call when it happens. I did buy a light that I wanted for it. Was discontinued and reduced from £140 to £42 and I got another £4 off as it had a small scratch that won't be seen. Did some grocery shopping yesterday and used a £4 off voucher so those savings along with my ebay gains and a TT were used to reduce the mortgage by £49 today.

On Wednesday evening when I was at my sister's, I helped go through her clothes and so many were dispatched to the charity shop. There was a definite message for me in doing that. Don't hold onto what's not needed or just unsuitable. Get rid and if doing so means you can generate funds for what's really important to you then do it and enjoy things while you can. She had so many unworn clothes that ironed items would wrinkle in her wardrobes.

Anyhow, today was valentines and I was given a lovely card along with four books that I would have chosen myself including one by Marion Keyes. I totally love how she writes so am off to bed to curl up with that.

Here's hoping that however you spent valentines, you know that you are loved. Tonight it's what I'm grateful for.

  • Today is my non working day but I'm doing two hours this morning as I have some stuff to get out to clients. I'm determined to have fri afternoon off to make up for it and for last week. Was in dublin yesterday so filled up with cheaper diesel saving approx 15p a litre. Also treated dd and oh to a KFC to take advantage of their Tuesday offer. Today's excitement will be a trip to sainsbugs stocking up on hold ups as they have 25% off and I also have an offer for £5 worth of points if I spend £10. Will also do a charity shop drop off so another box down.
    Happy hump day everyone.

  • Had a bad night last night and another the night before and just feel urgh. Another issue raised its head at work yesterday. I'm starting to seriously wonder if it's worth it. Maybe I should give it up and look for something that pays half the salary but brings so much less stress. OH thinks that I could only do that in the short term though and longer term I'd be even more stressed. Right now I just want to cry at the thought of going back in there. This weekend OH goes to visit his family from sat to mon. Really need to avoid wallowing.
This evening I have to go to my sister's house. My bil called my mobile Wednesday morning asking if I could swing by and sign some forms. I had advised him to set up enduring power of attorney while my sister still had capacity to communicate. I assumed he needed something witnessed. He then dropped the bombshell that they were both nominating me in a joint capacity with the other one of them. This isn't something I wanted particularly as it was I who suggested it and he has a number of siblings. I was also previously set up as a trustee of their son's disability trust. I really don't want all the responsibility but I can't say no to someone who is dying.

I really just want to run away.

Wow that is quite a load on you. It does show how respected and trusted you are by your sister and bil despite not having had a close relationship with your sister.
I'm sorry work is continuing to be so difficult. It's good that you can recognize all these stresses but take care of you too. I hope there's something to look forward to soon?
And no harm in polishing up the cv, " just in case".

  • 1. write the CV as Verbatim says.

    2. I wouldn't want the responsibility either but understand the can't say no in this circumstance.

    3. I would definitely look for another job - but that is coming from a place were last night I think I dreamt that my boss told me to shoot someone (!) and I went and got a gun....so er....but honestly the stress just. isn't. worth. it. AT ALL.

I shall expect check ins over the weekend to avoid wallowing BIg Love Buffy XXXX

    I really really dont.
    Keep plodding.
My take on the work thing is that life is way way too short so look for something else.
